Reviving this thread again but was wondering if anyone has been experiencing scratches on their tint since having it installed? I want to find a tinter who has solved this problem by either applying felt to the hard vinyl weather gasket inside the door panel or actually shaving it off...

Just don't want to drop the $ if its going to look like shit in two months.

I just had Huper Optik nano-ceramic film installed at Tint King for $300 on my e90 on Friday. Llumar non-metallic/carbon based film was quoted at $250. Both films have a life time warranty. The install looks terrific, and making an appointment is a breeze. I had Suntek non-metallic/carbon based on my old car and it held up really well over the 3 years that I had it, no scratching, peeling, bubbling or fading. I do, however, think the Huper Optik ceramic has more visual clarity (there were cars with both options on site so I could compare side by side.)

I'll post some pics so that people can see what it looks like this weekend.

Well it only took me a year but I finally got my ride tinted. This local place opened up called "Sun Stoppers" run by Rob Burton. He was extremely helpful and professional. He didn't lie to me about the dot matrix and such. He said it won't come out perfect(which I have come to accept). Price was right in line for all the tints I have been getting He used Suntek Carbon. It's Sunteks top of the line dyed film with no metal in it. I opted for law friendly 35percent. Comfort access still works great(was a big concern off mine). He really did an excellent job installing the film. He went right up to the edges of the windows and I have yet to see any imperfections. he can be contacted by email at robburton80@comcast.net or by by phone at 508-889-8468.

Without further adieu:

and the infamous dot matrix

Looks good! In a couple of days try pressing the tint against the dot matrix to see if you can get it to cover even more.

Rob tinted my car about a month ago at Sunstoppers too...Wrapped the inner-door weather stripping on my two front doors with felt as well. Quality tint job would highly recommend him!

How much did you guys pay for your tints at Sun Stoppers? Also, what is the diff between ceramic and carbon? I have a white car so I want to get the darkest shade possible for 35%.

I think I paid $220. I'm not sure about the differences between the tints....

is it odd of me to want something lighter than 35%? maybe around 50%? my last car was around 25% (i bought it from my brother who is a police officer lol) and i honestly had trouble seeing at night. i also believe that having a lighter tint would help avoid attention from law enforcement....
