I'd be in for the group buy, but how would this affect your warranty? Think you'd have to remove it every time you took the car in for service?

It depends on the dealershop, it's like you are adding an aftermarket audio parts. However, same as most other aftermarket suppliers, We have NO liability for changes to your factory warranty which may result from the installation of our products.

With it installed, does it affect any coding / flashing dealer wants to do? I know for stuff like the Procede / SmartTop units, you need to either take them out, or they have an inactive mode you can switch them to easily (without having to uninstall them or anything) that doesn't interfere with the BMW computers.

Nope, I did custom coing (done by myself) and iDrive software upgrade (done by dealershop) while the unit was installed on my 09 M3 Coupe.

But still, you can take simply disconnect the interface module power by pulling out the power connector, if you want it disabled.

Cool. So with it disconnected, iDrive will still function? Some other things you can't just disconnect power to them, as otherwise, the signals won't pass thru them in bypass mode.

I've got to read over the install instructions still, but it sounds like from what you're saying it's easy to disconnect the power, or do you need to plan for it ahead of time when doing the install, and add a switch or something easily accessible?

No plan for an additional power switch or something,

Interface module will just bypass the video signal (Original signal from the CCC/CIC to Interface to your screen) and trick the CAN signal.

Once the power is disconnected, video signal will still run (CCC/CIC to Interface to screen) through, so you will still get your stock screen displayed and iDrive will still function.

By doing this, you are just disabling the interface module only, not your stock system.
