The deck was relocated to the trunk we placed it in the oem amplifier location. this is to retain CAN-bus functions tied in with the radio.

With the logic7 system we were not able to retain chimes and backup sensor sounds.
(as i was following another post here on the deck relocation and adding a speaker under the front dash to retain chimes, this will only work on NON-L7 systems).

Looks great, I really like how the sub takes up so little room in the trunk

Nice! Not a very convenient place if you're using nav though.

Interior and trim matches my E92. I am having my Z110 installed tomorrow but I am putting it above the climate controls using a Metra kit. I don't like how it looks with it below, its too low in my opinion.

Nicely done though. Subwoofer in the trunk looks clean.

I agree as well, the metra kit with the radio on top is better placed. This kit he actually purchased from another member on the board, I think before he knew about the metra kit. If it was my choice I probably I would have used the metra kit.

The kit he bought was actually very well built, pretty good fitment. The only thing I was very unhappy about was that a 1/2" piece of MDF wood was required to be cut out to house the radio and climate controls (in the thread the seller makes it sound like the kit is complete and ready to go, most people would not be able to cut out a piece of wood like this!!!!!!)

Sub looks and sounds great. The excelon slim sub plays VERY well for the size that it is.

I think anyone can take a cheap jigsaw and cut a piece of wood using a template that I provide. If they can't handle something so simple then they shouldn't be doing an install like this. That's just my .02
I can cut one out for anyone that wants one. It takes 2 minutes.

yes beautiful car...
for the sub setup we did not have very much to work with...
in order to retain the convertible functionality, the inner trunk flap still had to be able to be pulled down, originally we were planning to do a regular box facing the rear but no box was that small. so then we had to go with the slim box and slim sub. you could fit a sub facing the ski hole, but you'd have to have something custom built.
