Service ENGINE SOON LIGHT questions

i have a weekend 2006 BMW 325I car which the service engine light just came on saturday. i have about 35k on the car. i just found out my ex- wife was putting in 87 gas (low octane) in my car during the weekends for a month. when i turned the car on, the car shakes and there is a light noise. when at a stop sign and i release my foot from the break i could feel the car shaking a bit. the idle is also rough. does anyone have a clue as to what this could be. rarely drive this car and dont understand what could it be.

Best bet is to find someone with a BT scanner and read the code. If your SA is cool you might be able to get them to read the codes free.

Are you talking about a coil pack? Because there is no way one cost 1300 dollars. More like a 100.
