Looking at 07' CPO tomorrow! What should I look out for?

Hey folks.

Need your help!

So I'm driving 90 miles to go check out a local CPO here. It's an 07 sedan with only 16K miles! To me, slightly suspicious, but that's probably the paranoid side of me. I'm thinking it could be a loaner car? But the Carfax says it was privately issued and had a lien on it.

So is there anything that I should really look for in the 07's? Anything faulty on the 07's? I know the oil cooler is smaller on the 07's right? Can that be "upgraded" if I tell them it's got cooling issues if it does indeed have issues?

Any other thoughts? Thanks. -Jeff

im guessing you are going to be look at 335? i dont think there is any difference in oil cooler size. i think back in 07 not all 335i sport packages had them, you can check by looking at the passenger side wheel well for the vent. you can ask if the fuel pump was replaced. i see you have 63 posts so i think you have seen the many HPFP threads. thats all i can think of right now.

Yep, definitely know about the HPFP issues. I did read that Car and Driver or R and T ran a 335 on the track for about 5-6 minutes, and after wards it shut down because of I believe the oil cooler not working efficiently. That's what I figured everyone was talking about when people ask about oil coolers.

Before you buy any 07 335i check if it has a oil cooler, if it does not have it, get it as condition of purchase IN WRITING BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING.

How do you tell if it does or not?

This link help? http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/2278/cooler.jpg

****edit. I googled it, and I should look for a radiator looking piece near the front bumper on the passenger side. I'll ask the dealer about the retro fit. How often do you hear about people without them getting one installed? Is constant complaining enough or does my vehicle have to over heat to get something done about it?***

So it appears the pic I provided doesn't have the return lines to the oil cooler, so it appears it doesn't. Lets hope they give in. Suggestions? Say I'm going to track it?
