Bump this thread up top...I have been getting alot of pm regarding the resonators...I have logged many miles on these Vibrant resonators and its still performing the same...Very very little drone and NO rasp whatsever..Anyone experiencing rasp should have these installed on their midpipes to get rid of that ricey, raspy sound!

I'll definitely be getting these...totally worth it if I can get rid of at least 50% of the drone ~ 2k rpm, will it?

i don't really have any rasp, but i have some kind of boomy drone sound in the cabin @ 1.5-2k rpm. kind of like a poorly tuned subwoofer placed in a poorly tuned room.

still recommend these for me?

i was reading earlier (on these forums) that drone can't really be solved without redirecting the exhaust somehow (as opposed to resonators, which are just straight pipes with filler)

Not sure of the noise your describing, so I dont know if these will help your situation...I have not heard of this boom sound your speak off in an exhaust.

Look at my pics from the first page...It clearly shows where the resonators were welded on...

Well there is really only one location to weld these things on and its somewhere along the lines of the midpipe where there is a straight section and no bends on the piping....There really is no other way of going at this...Find a spot on the midpipes that is relatively straight and cut and weld the resonators on...

would welding it on pre mid pipes in the straight section a little after the dp connection yield different results. the section that is at an angle oriented to the car is straight then it kinks again to go straight back.

On my last car I had a Greddy exhaust and the resonator blew out causing some HORRIBLE b16 Honda civic sounding Rasp.

I went with a magnaflow but same thing nonetheless.

It really cleaned up the sound and added a nice deep tone to the whole exhaust note.

I got it from www.speeddemonperformance.com

They get borla vibrant and magnaflow parts, all you do is email them the part number you want and they will give you the best price.

Eitherway good stuff.

PS. I have stock exhaust, but I love the slight rasp of N/A mode. Reminds me of the E36/E46

I have catless downpipes and vanguard exhaust for my e90 and it is getting louder and louder but not much rasp. If i install these resonators, would it reduce the overall loudness of the exhaust?

Your vanguard exhaust already has resonators in the midpipes, if you feel its still too loud I would suggest getting rid of the H-pipe and installing a x-pipe...That would reduce the overall loudness of the exhaust....

I have a question then....if I were to do these resonators in place of the stock cats, with stock DPs, and stock mufflers, how would that work out??? Would it be a noticable difference in tone???

Since you have stock dps and using the stock mufflers, the exhaust would be pretty tame to begin with and it would be noticeable during WOT...I guess installing these resonators in would dampen the sound to make it almost OEM exhaust...

That what I'm kinda looking for. I don't need a noticeable exhaust while cruising but at WOT is when I would want a nice little grumble. I found some on ebay for like $47-$50 a piece and another like $50 to get them put on...I think it might be worth it.

I paid 95 dollars including shipping back when I made this post about 2 years ago and it cost me 100 bucks to have them welded on, so I think your price is awesome

I wish I could get a clear concensus on the resonators and reducing drone. I too have the Eisenmann Race. The drone is bearable but if I could clean it up a bit I would. Love the sound otherwise.
Some say for certain it helps while others say not even a chance it could so I'm confused.
Haven't been able to find an opinion from someone with resonators installed on an Eisenmann setup for a real opinion on it.
