should i trade sell and buy a e46 m3? :/

should i sell my 335i and get a LOW milage e46 m3? im thinking of reducing my payments... i can get a m3 with like 20-30k miles for low 20's. my car currently is worth nearly 30k.

just kinda tossing the idea around.

what do you guys think? will i be shunned for going backwards to a e46

i'd stick with the 335, its a bit more unique vs the e46, its too played out

Yes but to find a clean low mile M you're looking at high 20s.

i actually owned a car in between. I had a E46 M3 Vert before I moved to WA. Black on red, LMs, Brembo BBK front and rear, TC Kline coilovers, Gruppe M exhaust, and VF SC kit. Well long story short, I loved that car BEFORE the SC kit. It was amazing. But once I put the SC kit, the car never ran right. Massive problems that VF could never fix. So when I found out I was moving to WA, I sold it and bought a 2005 STI. Big mistake. So I ditched that and bought my E92. I regret selling my M. I really loved the look and the feeling that car had. High revving with tight handling, but still a lot of comfort. E92 has sick speed, just very boring the way it comes.

A late, low mileage M3 is going to be about as much as your car is worth now. I've seen 2007 335i's being offered at local dealers for $31k (3 CPO E90's at BMW Seattle for example.) Now, that is for E90's, so your E92 may sell for more at a dealer as a CPO, but as a private party sale? Probably not going to get $30k, more like $28k.

In other words, it would be a wash, other than if you extend the financing term a few more years.

YMMV


Oh, and BMW Seattle has a 2006 M3 with 29k miles, asking $37k....

if i were to do it all over again, i would just buy very high mile 01/02 M3 at 10~15k and drop it off at HPF...

the thing is i am not looking cpo... bmw tries to make a huge margin on there used m cars.. ive been to auction with my uncle and cars with around 40k (like my 335i) are going anywhere from 20k-24k depending on condition, number of owners, options ect... i honestly dont want to dd a hpf car...

james why didnt you go back to like a 06-07 m3 from the sti? what made you go for the e92.

was reading how much power was possible with just a tune, so I bought one

i agree with everyone though, youd lose a ton getting rid of your car. just keep it since you have it already
