Dinan finally releases CAI for 335/135

From Dinan:

"The wait is over and it was well worth it! We are ready to start pre-selling the new DINAN Cold Air Intake for the 2007-2009 E82(coupe) 135i and 2007-2009 E90(Sedan), E92(Coupe), E93(Convertible), 335i/xDrive.

As these intakes are made of hand-crafted carbon fiber, it is going to take a few months to get production ramped up. We are projecting the following delivery schedules so please expect back orders for the first couple of months. For December we will have a limited supply and should be able to ship 10 units. January will be 20 units and by February 40 units, which will be our monthly output. We will be keeping track of orders placed by date and will not be able to fulfill orders for multiple intakes until inventories are built up.

Please call your Dinan rep for the intake that fits your customer's specific car as we have four separate kits and the details are below.

135i Product Numbers:
D760-0026 - 2007-09 135i (E82)

335i Product Numbers:
D760-0027 - 2007-08 335i/xDrive (E90)
D760-0029 - 2009 335i/xDrive (E90)
D760-0025 - 2007-09 335i/xDrive (E92/E93)

The Cold Air Intake replaces the factory plastic airbox lid with a carbon fiber lid that adds a secondary carbon fiber intake tube. The intake tube includes shielding for the conical filter to protect it from the hot engine compartment air. Air entering through the Dinan intake is over 40 degree F cooler than coming in through the stock intake.
Horsepower is increased by +14 hp @ 6000 rpm and Torque is increased by +16 ft-lbs @ 3400 rpm on a completely stock car.
Retail price is $999.
Installation time for the intake is 1.5 hours. "

So there are two filters when it's all said and done? One at the end of the snorkel (or straw, if you drive in a puddle) and the second OE filter in the stock box bottom?

Props for this intake ! I'm still stock with a drop-in filter. However, I'd like to know the procedure how to change or clean the filter.

Probably be just like the UR intake and have to remove the inner fender liner to clean the filter.

How did I know it was going to be $999 well because everything Dinan is priced in multiples of $1000 dollars, and theuy could not make it $2000. Easy, anyway it looks really good. In fact best looking one yet! But how do we know it wont suck water in? Just curious to know how that is prevented.

Okj guys, start forming the queue behind me.

I've heard of a few members being asked to return the car to stock form for diagnostics to include the intake. Granted, an intake would be infinitely easier than DP's, but are they going to want the same with the Dinan?

That looks awesome, but $1k?! If someone makes a replica for half the price, I'd get it.

450 is abit optimistic given it's Dinan...I would say at least 600 if they do decide to make one. I think they were planning to, but later said their "market" wanted the CF version

it looks awesome. Idiots should have made it out of hard plastic like stock and sold it for $600 or so.

wow looks great. would love having that, but 999$ is outrageously expensive for a DCI, IMO.

Jesus that is sweet, but $1000 for an intake is just retarded.

Edit: So does the air through the snorkel get filtered twice? Pretty sure it does unless they changed the airbox internals.
