Hi Chris

About 40 BHP and 60 lb.ft Torque. The difference in driving is a lot

Hi imran

Thanks for the reply, is that for the evolve switchable map, as I like the idea of swapping it back to OEM when I take it for a service?

Thanks Chris

The map and results are 100% the same whether the map is applied directly by us or via the switchable unit.

Hi Imran,

You mentioned the automatic will have no clutch problems due to it not having one. What about the manual? will the map cause excessive wear on the clutch(on the E9X 320d)?

Very impressive graphs btw, I always assumed a map would mean sacrificing the smooth power delivery but that looks perfect.

We reduce the torque by about 10-15 lb.ft on the manual and feed to power in more gradually to protect it.

As long as you don't ride the clutch and do boy racer starts it will be fine

A lot of our customers comment on how much smoother the car is with our remaps.

I've had a few people asking me this now so i'll extend the 449 offer until end of January 2011. No excuse not to order it now!

Hi Imran, I've sent you an email re the switch box remap. You got any in stock?

Just a few quick questions, if I have just had new software installed by BMW for all the cars controls not just engine related, will this wipe them off or overide them?

Also if in six months time I sell the car can the switch box remap be sold or is it linked to my car specifically for one use only?

Last one, I know you slightly detune your maps for manual cars. What are the max torque and bhp figures for the 163 320d manual?

Thanks

We have 4 units left from our next batch which should be here tomorrow.

Thank you to those you have pre ordered. They usually sell out before they get here!

Sorry I missed this post.

We only change the part of the ECU that controls the engine. Everything else remains unchanged.

If you return your current car back to standard the box can be used on another car.

I am away from the office so don't have the complete specs but torque is 10 lb ft less and max BHP is the same as for the auto cars - around 200 BHP.

Have been reading about Evolve switch and am very tempted...

Imran how do you deal with buyers outside the UK particularly with (I think) slightly different specs on the 320d here and possibly returns? Thanks.

Which country are you in? We have mapped all types of BMW's in many different countries.

Just Fitted Evolve Switch 335d

Just a quick update regarding the Evolve Switch I have just received and Fitted.

Easy, very easy. The little box is lovely. Well made, solid and rather dinky.

Really nice LCD readout as well. Time , care and attention has obviously been given here and it pays dividends.

It was a doddle to download my original map and send to Imran.

On a Saturday Morning, it was sent and I had the modified Evolve Map back with me by the afternoon.

Just as easy to upload the file to my 52,000 mile 335d which I have only had for a month.

Bear in mind I have no dyno figures on my car either before or after the remap, so all observations are purely on how it feels to me.

Time for a Test Drive, oooh its perky even pulling out the drive Wets lips in anticipation.

Ok here we go...DTC on as usual (dont want the brakes coming on too much) and away she goes.

Rapid is not the word! This isn't a diesel, nah cant be.

Very very smooth, much smoother than before the map. Gear changes in drive are totally 100% improved. The power is amazing.

Quite hard to describe the difference, but it is huge and significant.

Much greater care is required when booting, I need to be totally in a straight line before I dare give it full boot.

The traction control comes in even with medium acceleration. In fact the trick is pulling away fast with just enough pressure to make sure the light doesn't come on.

No idea on fuel yet, but I love it anyways.

Any Downsides?

Yeah, Much Much greater care required. Leadfoots need not apply. Gently does it!!

My brakes now feel not quite up to the job. My other car is a Porsche Carrera and the brakes are so much more powerful.

The 335d brakes felt ok before, but now I feel like some sort of an upgrade would be advisable.

But the power is immense. For every day driving this is quicker and easier than the Porsche. But it does highlight to me how sweet the Porsche steering and handlng is. The BMW doesn't match up here I'm afraid. But thats not really relevant to the Evolve Switch.

Cant think of anything else other than that using the switch method you dont get the benefits of a before and after dyno and the little charts. Would be nice, but all I know is my car feels a "little" different

Well done guys, and to anyone thinking of it I would highly recommend the switch, the map and Imran and the guys.

I have no connection other than reading this forum and that made me buy the Evolve Switch.

Cheers Guys.

These are my opinions and only mine. Comments Welcome.
