E90 Rear Ash Tray Fitting

Guys,

due to some kids (the little feckers!) kicking my rear ashtray it has been broke off! have double checked with the dealers and they have confirmed that some little clips have broke and re-fitting is a no no!

So i picked up a new part today (never use the ashtrays, non smokers and all that) but i want it fixed as it would do my head in.

Dealer said its a tricky job to fit it and would need a half hour labour charge to fit it but thought i could do it myself, although if it is indeed a tricky problem i wont risk it.

Has anybody got a "how to" on fitting these as i understand that the rear vents must come out also.

Thanks,
Keith.

so if you have a short fuse with little tacky plastic things, would ya recommend getting the dealer to fit?

guys mine came out tonight, tried for about 5mins trying to get it back in but i couldnt get it in. The bottom of the ash tray has to clip onto two little stick out posts and the top piece has to fit back into the runners.

Just cant get the bottom to clip on, any tips on how to clip it on?

Send a message via MSN to m1bjr
Lid open.

Search a thread on 'wrapping interior' or something like that.

Some good pictures on a trim removal there.
