My worst experience ever

Hey guys,

Just went to Motorline at daisy hill. I know some of you have had great experiences there, so have i, but the manager has recently change.

I have bought car off motor line before but with this new manager today... was the worst car buying experience i ever had.

1. He called me silly
2. He said to me i can sell the car to another buyer and make more profit
3. Scrunched up the paper we were dealing on in front of my face.
4. He didnt even offer to shake hands

I thought that was pretty rude, then realised that he was the owner. The other sales person was otherwise pretty good.

Just letting you guys know

what were you trying to buy, and how far under the asking price were you trying to do a deal? saturday's are probably their most busy days so their patience may run short but sounds like he's just plain arrogant.

Your experience is very close to mine at Artarmon. U know the Americans have a blacklist for dealerships, someone should start a thread for Australias blacklist BMW dealerships.

It was mid afternoon, i was trying to buy a z4, there were no other customers in the dealership, certainly very quiet.

The price i was asking was just under what my friend bought his for in melbourne (in terms of $$$ off, obviously not absolute coz stamp duty is different). But either way, i dont think he should have done that. I guess he was showing his power? Anyway, that was within 5 minutes of talking to the Manager, not like i had been an idiot wasting his time with impossible deals if you know what i mean.

Great idea. I think this is very important for people not to get ripped off and treated like... **** I mean that really isnt the type of service i was expecting when you are about to spend 90000+++ you know what i mean?

also
Pretty sad tho, i will be adding Motorline into it, coz i actually thought they were good, with the previous manager. But i guess i will never go there again.

I think its shocking how some dealerships treat customers who they know will spend big. Ive got to say im glad that people will view the black list and have an understanding of what kind of attitude to expect from these dealerships.

1. Brisbane city
2. Daisy hill
3. Calaundra about 130km
4. Gold coast 90km
5. Toowoomba 150km

Dealers within approx 150km radius. But in Brisbane per se is really only 1 and 2.

1 has the highest DD hence overall price.

I have just bought my second BMW from Brisbane BMW and have enjoyed the experience. I have been in the motor industry for 10years and found them proffesional and efficient, i would recommend them highly

i had a similar exp here in the states with audi. i got so pissed off at the manager at this dealership, it made me go buy the exact same car that day at another dealer and I ended up paying a little more than I wanted but they were nice about it. I went back to the other dealer in my new car and pulled up outside the window, went to get my floor mats their. Funny the sales lady i worked with was nice and she pointed it out to him and she said she was glad I did that.
I did the same thing you did after that and talked with some people about the dealer and it turns out they had a pretty bad rep. I should have done some research before I went there. I'm sure you will find some dealer out there to accomodate you and give you some freaking respect.

What an a$$hole! At the end of the day he has to remember he is just a man flogging metal... I would definitely go somewhere else where they know the fine art of negotiation... perhaps that guy should be told to leave the Hyundai selling tactics in the back room next time.

when i bought my 2 cars, they asked what my father did... assuming that he was buying the car for me... which he didn't!

as soon as they get wind of what you do, or whoever is funding the car for you, they either treat you well, or spit you out i felt however, that trivett kept this to a bare minimum, compared to the other dealers i went to look at cars

the internet enqiury then the followup phone call from the dealer then the visit to the dealership seems to work best if you are interested in testing a vehicle with minimum hassle

The sequence of events for me was interesting. I called the dealership and said I was shopping for a new car and wanted to test drive an E90. I don't think the receptionist thought I was serious because when I turned up the person they had allocated to look after me wasn't a sales person - rather the guy who orders all the spare parts and coordinates the logistics of deliveries etc.

Anyway it worked to my advantage because we went for a no hassle drive and chatted casually. When I got back I mentioned that our MD bought his 5 Series from there and that it was going to be a company car, and then they took things more seriously.

I think they were a little embarrassed that a non sales person had looked after me, and this combined with my MD's reputation got me a good deal. I wrote a glowing report of the guy who looked after me - he did an excellent job, and now I think they have moved him into sales - I will certainly only deal with him in the future.
