Sorry, I guess I didn't explain that too well. I meant that K&N makes flanges, tubes, and accessories that you can use to customize your own particular application. I bought these a couple of months ago. They're still sitting in my garage. If I have the chance I'll take some photos and post them.

does this mean you have to cut another hole into the intake for the other duct? would u actually do this to your pretty gruppe m?

Not at all. If you look at the GruppeM design, it utilizes the front and sides of the engine compartment as part of its sides. That's the novelty of this.

Dinan Intake Install - DIY

After seeing the materials Dinan used for the intake I decided to put together a DIY for the intake with pictures to make it easy. Hope it's useful for everyone.

1) Go to Dinan's website and order intake.
2) Go to toilet and deposit checkbook, wallet, etc.
3) Flush money down toilet.
4) You're all set and ready to hit the open road!

Note to Mod's: Any chance I can get a sticky for this in the DIY section?

When you think about it, you can buy a nice vacuum cleaner for that price, and use the extra accessories for your car.

LOL! Half of those pieces look like something off my new Bissell. Just use a long hose and someone could have an intake/vaccum cleaner for the car, now that's a great use of technology. I can see the marketing slogan now, "Only with the new Dinan can you get 10 more HP and carpet clean enough to eat your lunch off of."

well the dealer gave me a call yesterday to let me know that the intake is there, and i made an appointment to get it install on tuesday. we'll all see how it is on tuesday. maybe its not that bad as you guys say or maybe not bad at all. we'll all have to wait and see.

Take some pictures if you can, especially during the install. I'm curious to see where the route the tube.

+1. Also, take some pictures of them drilling that Dinan plaque into your airbox. I'm sure that's good for at least 3 of the 5 claimed HP. I want to see what brand of self-tapping screws they use.

Damn, i cant do this mod...i have the ACS front lip and that blocks out that grill section to the side of the brakeducts...

Over the past several months I have been thinking of all sorts of options from placing a duct on the fender itself, to utilizing a M-like front fender grille to channel air in, but then decided it best if I take advantage of the RAM air effect.

You could always remove and replace the existing brake duct. I've been thinking of removing it, taking it to a machine shop, and having them make me one out of aluminum with an extra opening for the air intake. What do you think about that idea?

thinking out of the box!.....thats a very good idea, i dont know where any metal shops are arund here but i should start looking for one. Maybe i wont even need to go to a metal shop, but just make an incision on the brake duct and make the air come from that, but it might not give sufficient cooling since there will be less air to it..what do you think?

I thought about that idea, but if you look at it, the duct is divided into two sections, and the seam that connects it is on the top.

I'm guessing you get a new cover for the airbox rather than affixing the badge yourself
