Goliath Leader

My 335i is on the Goliath but I have not seen a location update except it is due in by the 8th. Anticipation is killing me. I imagine it will be about 2 weeks form the 8th when I get the car.

I assume you bought it from a dealer in California. If so it is only making a drop in Brunswick for the south east coast states before heading to the Panama Canal on the 13th and then Port Hueneme on the 21st. My SoCal dealer said it should be ready for pick up around the 26th. So I am looking at almost 3 weeks from now before I can get my hands on my 335i.

My dealer is saying 2 week after the car is delivered to Port Hueneme. But then again, I am in Colorado so it still has more traveling.

The anticipation is tough...

Ahh, did not know it was destined for Port Hueneme. Makes sense.

I have been tracking the Brunswick port all day, Goliath Leader is still not there. Unless it arrived and left, but I seriously doubt it.

Cheers,

This website is showing an ETA of 10pm and I believe this is EST so it should be appearing there soon.

What website are you using to monitor Brunswick? I am using Vesseltracker but it has a delay so I don't have any real live data.

Vessel Tracker also, but it seems fairly real-time. I could be wrong though.

Goliath Leader

Chuck,

Maybe the East Coast storms had an impact on it's arrival time. Anyway, check this out:

All the tracking software I have access to has dead spots arounf Brunswick except Vessel Tracker. If you go to the pricing options for the Vessel Tracker site it shows the basic registration has delays for the port and ship information. The Goliath Leader maybe in port but we may not know for a day or 2. It has not slipped on the booked date for the Panama Canal as yet so it may still be on schedule.

My 335d on the goliath leader too. Still no sign of it at Brunswick. Here's a link to what claims to be a live map of the area around Brunswick: http://www.vesseltracker.com/en/Port/brunswick/Map.html

The Faust came through there earlier today (it left fawley a few days before the goliath leader, but has already made some other east coast stops). If the GL made similar time, it ought to be in tonight or tomorrow, which I'd presume puts it behind schedule? Not sure how much fudge factor is built into their plan to be at port hueneme by the 21st.

I also noted that the position of the Faust on the "live" site I linked to is quite a bit behind the Faust's position on marinetraffic.com, so not sure how live vesseltracker really is. The GL could already be there for all we know.

Last thing I noted is that that GL is currently scheduled as the #7 ship through the canal on Feb 14th. It looks like ships keep getting bumped down the list until they actually confirm a time - we were as high as #2 on the 13th for a while if I recall correctly. Let's hope they get something locked down soon. http://www.boydsteamship.com/booking.php

Anyway, glad I'm not the only one geeking out and stalking this boat!

Alright. I (or, rather my fake alter ego, Homer Sampson) signed up for a free account with vesseltracker, which got rid of some of the delay. I'm pleased to confirm that it says the goliath leader is moored in brunswick as of 41 minutes ago.

Heh. BMW of Bakersfield.

All of the bay area dealerships were either (i) competent but super greedy (unwilling to discount from MSRP much if at all) or (ii) incompetent (willing to discount but not understanding [or more likely lying about] their ability to actually get a 335d built). Finding someone to order me a car for what I thought was a reasonable price was extremely difficult, but I finally hit the jackpot in Bakersfield. Not especially looking forward to making the drive down there (back won't be as much of a problem ), but it's worth it both because of the amount of $$$ I saved and because I'm not putting any of my $$$ in the pockets of any of the jerky bay area dealerships.

Do you have a d on the way? If so, did you get it here? If so, did you get a decent deal?
