Custom Gear Ratio?

Do you guys think it would be worth it? If i wanted to add a C6 Z06 Rear gear which i think is a 3:42 i think it would make i pretty huge difference in terms of acceleration. With the Standard 6MT N54 Being a 3:08 Any thoughts?

Why not just get the AT 3.46 gearing?

Yeah, I just had a 3.46 put in my 6MT. Haven't been able to really test it yet.

Pros and Cons of this if there's any. I have a quaife on my MTbut very interested on the AT one

I bought it from zsapphire7. He could probably give a better review since he tracked his car.

Pros - I think the shorter gears give you more torque since you multiple something by the 3.46 vs. 3.08...

Cons - Higher RPMs for the same speed (i.e., 70mph was about 2700 and now it's about 3100), Lower top speed

Also, does anyone know if I can now launch in 2nd gear like the ATs do? =P

Thanx. Try to launch it man. I don't really care abt top speed never did as i dont track my car (only time I care is now cus I'm going to the drag strip event but that's only 1 day thing).

I looked into the higher gearing when I put a Quaife LSD into my ride. Cost would have been about $1,500 higher cause no exchange credit. Stayed with the stock 3.08, but I was tempted due to no need for the top end. Figured that mileage might suffer a bit, and lower top speed in a given gear. Probably would make 1st gear useless, as I often start in second with the stock gear ratio.

I'd like to go the other way (numerically lower) for my 6MT so 1st and 2nd gear become useful again.

I think especially once more people are running upgraded turbos we'll see more demand for gearing that accomodates the gobs of extra power.
