My 330i already got them on when I bought them. I thought they were standard equipment.

No, their not standard or optional , they are only available through bmw accesories I understand. Hes reffering to the iluminated BMW letters where the door closes on the floor of the car not the iluminated door handles

Thanks, I've been to both. I was just curious to your experience.

Relative to mds's post, if you have connections or friends in body shops capable of servicing your BMW, it gets even better. Whenever you get into an accident, take it to your buddy's shop, your buddy overquotes the insurance company and then squander the abundance on whatever goods you like.

Great plan, but make sure you take lots of pictures of your car so you have something to look at when you are serving time for fraud.

I know this is off the Door Sills topic but its a good anecdote. In the paper they sometimes have a stupid crooks section. Its funny to read. There was a story once about a guy who committed insurance fraud (I forgot what kind of ins - its not important). The guy posted on a newsgroup to get info on how he should handle the insurance inspector/adjustor. They used his postings in court and he went to jail. I guess he didn't realize everything can be traced. Insurance companies have big bucks and whole departments devoted to looking for this kind of info.

Lets hope Squawks doesn’t get into any accidents or this could come back to haunt him.
