Has anyone setup a radar/ laser jammer system on their E92?

I was contemplating purchasing a laser jammer / radar system. Wanted to know what systems people have installed in their 335 / 328's? Where did you place the electronics?

I am leaning towards a separate system composed of a Valentine 1 and an Escort ZR3. My secondary choice right now is the Escort SRX. Wanted feedback from people that are using these setups, what do you think?

I just ordered the SRX system. Way cleaner to install (less components). The installer is either going to flush it into the plastic piece at the bottom of the dash below the stereo or have it tucked into the ash tray. I'm leaning towards having put into the ash tray, the only hole cut is for the cord to run through and I can hide the unit just by closing the door.

I'm definetly going to opt for the Calibre K40 system w/ Bluetooth Laser Jammer.

My uncle has the calibre and although it is cool he later put a valentine etched into the rear view mirror and a separate laser detector unit. Calibre is not that good and certainly not worth $2000

My friend put K40 in his S55 and his wife's SL55. And he's said he loves it... I've been using a Passport Solo S2 for a while and I really like it. I guess in about a year I'm going to upgrade to a fully integrated system, such as K40 or anything that's better out there...

^ You gota do what you gotta do. Doesn't your car have an air vent for the windshield? I'd ziptie that mother to one of the vent in front of the screen till you find your mount. Maybe that would help with laser no?

There's a better option. I use an X-50, and hard wired it. The owners manual tells you how to remove the overhead console in order to manually close the sunroof. Once you get the console loose (it won't fall because there are several wire connectons) use a test light at the connector plug until you find a switched hot wire. To do this, find a hot wire with the ignition on, then turn the ignition off. If it's no longer hot, then you've found the right one! Just keep testing until you find the right wire. Use a tee connector, and tap into this wire for the hot lead to the radar detector. Loosen one of the small bolts for the ground (the bolt that holds the sun roof motor is not a good ground) and you have completed the power connection. Very carefully, push the headliner down where it meeets the windshield just enough to get the wire going to the radar detector out. Pull enough wire out to reach where you want to mount the detector, and you now have a switched hard wire connection. Use wire ties to neatly fold up any extra wire that will be above the headliner. Reverse the proceedure to reinstall the overhead console, and its finished.
