Somalian Pirates

Who have that english couple.

Getting a little annoyed now that we aint got them back.

Right my train of thought would be tooo......

Get the money they have asked for. Hand over the cash, take back UK couple and as the Pirates drive off in their boat,

NUKE EM

With a OOOZI or something, soon send out a clear message to all Pirates around the world.

(Ok the money is gone, but so are the fackers who did the kidnapping) Cant spend money if your dead.

Yeah, that'll help

On a serious note, BBC breakfast this morning had a feature this morning on how this kidnapping has outraged and mobilised the UK Somalian population (approx. 300,000).

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/8514104.stm

It was refreshing to see. I just hope for the couples sake, they're freed very soon.

Apparently a naval vessel with marines on board watched on whilst they were being kidnapped.

You'd have thought at the very least they'd have followed them or had them satellite tracked...

If the bloody Samilian community were that bothered why don't they all chip in £18 each and raise the £4.4 million needed.

I am sure each one has had thousands of UK pounds since arriving in the UK.

The UK spend less on our armed forces than any other major country in the world and the expenditure in real terms gets less every year. Thats why the forces are so short of equipment let alone modern equipment. Your can only blame the government for this. Who in a senior position in the government has ever spent time in the UK armed forces? Come to that who in any junior position? The only ideal they have is for a multi-cultural society and every body under the thumb of the government.
The sooner they are gone the better for the UK and its armed forces.

Possibly, but it's not for you to dictate what is posted in an OFF TOPIC thread on this forum.

Point taken but do we really need yet another sub Clarkson style thread on how the country is going down the pan and it's mostly the fault of johnny foreigner?

Probably not, in the same way we don't need another "what tyre pressure" thread.

Not taken offence as such, just weary of this sort of thread.

I split my time between the Uk and Australia, and with politics it just feels like same shit, different country. Everyone thinks their government is useless, everyone thinks they've got the most spineless government in the world, everyone thinks other governments do a better job/spend more etc etc.

I don't like the current government, but I just think the assumption that everything would be so much better with a different one is naive, they are all the same.

I just love that quote Carlos - when the pirates hear that the DXB is on their backs they'll be shitting bricks

You're right though, it is a farce, can't believe this sort of thing still happens in todays times.
