Sometimes I think US has some dumb requlations.. like requiring amber turning signals on all cars.

It´s crash regulations. Since in the US the lawmaker expects the occupants NOT to wear their seatbelts, the passive restraint (airbags and vehicle padding) systems have to work differently. Therefore most US spec BMWs have a different (thicker) padding of the dashboard underside to prevent submarining (sliding under the dash in cash of a crash) and - no storage compartment under the light switch.

In the rest of the world, if you don´t wear your belt, the lawmaker lets you claim that darwin award.

is that a glossy black trim? i seriously think BMW should have that as an option, just a wood trim that is completely black called piano or something.

I think it's an Individual option called Piano Black. Looks absolutely great with the Lemon interior.

You got it right (Sorry to dissapoint the others here). I was away for the week-end, that's why I couldn't clarify that one. It is simply the Burl Walnut trim.

This is a great thread. After seeing all color combos, I am sold to the Jet Black, Terra and Alumnium trim combo.

Thats what I am going to get on my E92 unless lemon becomes available here in the states (some say its to hard to keep clean?)....But you HAVE to get the aluminum plate steering wheel to go with the aluminum trim!

(I wish I knew how to attach picures..so I could attach what i mean.)

Here is a picture of the sp seats with adjustable front thigh, side thigh and side back support.

The sp seats also have black on the outside of the front seats.

Also, you get the smaller thicker sp steering wheel.

The regular seats do not have any thigh or side back support.
