A Peek Inside BMW's Secret Motorsport Warehouse

One of the writers over @ Jalopnik was allowed into one of BMW's many secret warehouses while in Germany. What he was treated too was a true medly of some of BMW's greatest vehicles

Heres a quick quote from the article but follow the jump to read the entire story

Quote:
: I was in Germany for the debut of the E90 3-series coupe and the technical backgrounder for the N54 turbo six. I was part of a small group of American journalists, and while we spent most of our time in and around BMW's new-car facility, we had dinner on the ground floor of the firm's Mobile Tradition (now ugh BMW Classic) building. A tour of the upper floors the storage area where most of the historic production and motorsport fleet is kept followed.
Jump on over to Jalopnik for the full story: http://jalopnik.com:80/5473082/a-pee...port-warehouse

Does anyone know of any off beat, secret BMW museums in and around Germany/Europe? Other than BMW Welt. I think BMW has a museum in Berlin where they made alot of their bikes at. Anyone know?

My favorite museums are EFA in the Chiemsee area(South of Muenchen) and the Sinsheim Technik Museum, in Sinsheim, near Hochenheim (on the A6 where the A81 hits it).

I have also been meaning to drive to up too Hamburg to go visit the Prototype Museum there. With only one off's from various German companies.

thanks

Wow. So small groups of enthusiasts are occasionally allowed in. I wonder how that can be arranged if you are not a journalist.

Without captions it is hard to tell, but the fastest car shown looks like the the famed F1 Brabham BT52 form 1983, and the most exotic engine is the BMW 1.5 liter 4 cylinder M12, from the times when technology was still used to made speed. Thanks for sharing.
