P SIX DSP MK2 worth it?

I can't find any review on this AMP/DSP

I removed my MS8. I couldn't make it sound right.

Any ways I'm using my JL600/6 to power the speakers and SW I know it can sound better with a DSP. So my idea is to add this AMP/DSP for the speakers and the JL600/6 to power the SW. And probably have someone to tune it for me.
Any reviews? T.I.A

You will need some good speakers for it

You will need some good speakers for it
Something that can take 120 rms per channel
and use it .
6 speed coupe and mathamatics had a thread on it here when it was
released and said many good things about it. that was mk1 though
I guess.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1111639

There was some more threads in that time range to.

What about a stand alone dsp for the JL
and there is no substitute for good speakers.

Absolutely excellent unit and we still sell/use/install a good bit of them. There are some minor tweaks with the MKII but there are still several MKIs out there performing quite well like in mathematics car.

Audiotec-Fischer had some minor issues that came up in the original units that weren't able to be detected in beta testing since it was really longer term use/application that revealed them.
Once found, they promptly addressed the issue with the MKII version which has been 110% solid. Provided it was bought legitimately all MKI owners were also taken care of.

Jehnerts with the P SIX is also a pretty damn good combination.

Also recommend the Jehnert flatline kit which 6spdcoupe sells. 6spdcoupe installed those jehnerts along with the PP82DSP in my car and it sounds great. I will preface that the PP82DSP is too weak for me so that P Six MKII should be kick-ass for you, especially if you add a second amp to power some subs.

I am brand new to the bmw car audio world but know I want to upgrade the amount of bass. I have done a lot of rewiring over the years on previous cars but hear a lot about the technic harness.

So I am awaiting this HELIX P SIX DSP MK2 amp/dsp/director /Bluetooth to deliver but need to know if I need this technic harness and do I need the extra oem harness (single or double)

I have a 2011 335i sedan with the 752 individual audio system, I will see how this amp performs and then assess what to do to address the bass (corner box or upgrade the under seat subs)

Are you aware the fiberoptic interface

Are you aware the fiberoptic interface in the L7 and Individual
audio system makes it a big pain to put and aftermarket system in .
You need to either recode to Hi Fi or get a preamp capable of converting the BMW proprietary fiberoptic signal to feed analog signals to your
aftermarket amp/dsp. I guess you can use speaker outs to drive another
amp but its not an elegant solution.

No I was not aware! So my best bet is to cancel this order and just get an amp and corner sub and go from there?

I really am just looking for suggestions on how to get the best sound quality with a little more thump and don't want to pay upwards of 2500 to do so.

Any expertise or suggestions is appreciated

Best bet, if you can swing it, would be to do it properly like he mentioned. No point in taking shorts now.

Adding on a Mobridge DA wouldn't break the bank and makes for a very seamless and great setup.

I would step back and study the possiblity's first.

I would step back and study the possibility's first.
That's a great unit if you know what you are doing with it.
What are you planning on doing for speakers?
Powering/changing the underseats and adding a sub is what most
end up doing as a first order mod.

Basically I love music and drive about 700km a week and would like to enjoy the music. I am willing to invest in a solid system and the speakers I can change as I go. I am not looking to sell this car over the next 3-5 years for sure, just looking for any real life experience and suggestions to accomplish so good sound quality and when I don't want to listen to the beautiful sounds of the car, the sound quality and a bit of thump is there.

Recoding is definitely a good option but bear in mind that you also need to pin the main harness and run a few wires from the HU back. Then terminate with RCAs. If you remove the gear when you do sell the car you will also have to recode it back.

That's a lot of driving ! I would want some damn good audio for the travels too !

Are you looking to collect all the gear and then install it ? Or install as you go ? If the latter then I would expect a huge difference with the OE drivers and the P SIX. Better ? Sure, especially if you can tune, but worlds better, not so much.

Simpler, but a bit more costly way to interface would be via the Mobridge DA I mentioned above. Remove fiber from the OE amp and send it to the DA. Not Exactly that simple, but for the most part it is.

I would be willing to invest front speakers and woofers at the same time of amp install if it is worthwhile, I can't afford to do all the speakers at once.

I need to look into this mobridge da....

Thanks for your suggestion.

I would think a mobridge da2 would be better

I would think a mobridge da2 would be better
than a da1. Unless you are committed to toslink out.
I think there is one other company making most to analog
preamp (Rainbow I think)can't recall what it was but it wasn't cheap.

Yea I realized it after I posted it. Just too lazy to edit it. I was thinking about then DAC Magic and power supply mod I did for the airport express. Those were two years ago.
