MULF2-High pinouts

Hi,

Does anyone have the pinout for the Harman/Becker Automotive MULF2-High which come with option 6FL? I recalled there was a thread that had a link to a site which the MULF2 was approved and certified by some government agency and the pinouts were there...I think.

Thanks,
Jim

Did you have any joy with this??

I retrofitted the USB today and the phone appeared in my menu too, so I want to add a mic and the bluetooth antenna, but not sure what the pins for the mic are.

It looks like a screen from the schematics?? Is it necessary??
Surely just running the + and - would get it up and running??

Did you figure out what cable to use and where to mount the BT antenna?

I just added Bluetooth to my MULF2. I used Retrofit cable 61 12 0 403 137, this only had TWO wires, this work fine for me.

Cheers,

Cheers,
This is great to know. How difficult was to run the harness from the boot to the dash area? Did you have to remove the seats and carpet? Are there any installation instructions that you found useful and can share?

Thanks!

If you have the USB option 6FL, you already have bluetooth, all you need to do is tell the radio you have it and then add a mic and an antenna, bother of which are $50.

Running the harness if pretty easy, just have to be careful if you are in a car without MOST already in there as you are laying optical cables and they can break.

Is this the full retrofit cable when 6FL is not installed?

The full retrofit comes with an extra cable, this is a cable that has MOST and Power.

The part listed above is now discontinued, probably because BMW have realised that people can order 6FL and then buy the parts to retrofit bluetooth for 120 instead of 575 they charge when ordering new.
You can still get the whole kit for 250, this included the bracket, MOST cable etc. etc.

You can then buy the single bits for the 6FL, so that is the better way to do it price wise.

I retro-fitted the Bluetooth telephone function to my 2008 E92 Sport. The car was supplied with Professional radio, L7 & USB (6FL) as standard. As the ULF-SBX-High acts as both audio (via USB) & Bluetooth it was remarkable easy to complete and now I enjoy the full benefit of Bluetooth as SA644 with voice activation.
I purchased the following parts from the SA644 retrofit kit 84640398228 from my local BMW dealer.
1. Retrofit wiring harness 61120403137
2. Microphone 84316938762
3. Bluetooth Antenna 84506928461. All parts came to 160.00
As the ULF-SBX-High was already connected to the MOST fibre optic circuit I did not need to alter any STD settings. I simply located the wiring harness as per the retrofit instructions, connecting in both the microphone in the original location of the interior light housing (FSD) and Bluetooth antenna next to the driver footwell.
This wiring loom came with a WHITE 54 pin block that does not directly fit the ULF-SBX-High unit which has a blue connecter block. I just needed to take the wiring pins out and relocating in the correct location of the original BLUE 54 pin block. I had the car re-coded by my local BMW specialist with the Auto logic system; they had to code 4 items in the car to get the Bluetooth switched on. Then it all worked. Auto logic cost just 35
So all in all, done for less than 200.00
I will add the eject box at a later stage when I decide to upgrade my phone, currently Sony Ericsson C902 which works really well & add a Antenna which sticks to inside of rear screen.
Cheers,

So with the 6FL factory-installed the only parts needed to get Bluetooth working -after activation- is the mic and the antenna and their respective cables?

Cheers,
Now I understand... you got the harness because it already has the cables/connectors for the microphone and the BT antenna. And you just removed those wires/pins from the white connector and inserted in the respective pins in the blue connector.

Therefore, if there's any other way of getting the proper OEM connectors for the mic and the BT antenna, any custom wiring could be done without buying the OEM harness...

Yeah, I think the only custom wiring that is truly needed would be for the MIC. A two wire run from the FZD to the MULF and the correct ends. The antenna can stay in the boot I guess with a short antenna cable but I wonder if that would be optimal or good enough to cover the signal area without issues.

So, is it the 61120403137 that is discontinued?
