MFD Scoops and K&N filter now fitted !

Just a quick update on progress with some of my mods. After looking at cold air intakes (which are ridiculously expensive) I decided to order M-Force Design air scoops and a K&N replacement filter instead - all for less than 100

The scoops were ordered from the States and fit perfectly, very well made and delivery took only 5 days. The K&N is from Ebay (best price I could find), anyone interested in a replacement filter for the 330i, the part no. is E-2022.

Not sure how much of a difference (if any) I will actually feel (not been out yet), but am happy that I have put in a decent filter and knowing that I am helping the engine breathe as much as possible.

Should shave at least 2 seconds off the 0-60 time.

Your original filter looks clean as a whistle!

Been doing some spirited driving today with my new mods - I doubted whether I would be able to tell any difference from stock, but I can !!!

Will - I knew it wouldn't make that much difference to the performance, but am happy with what I've achieved.

The engine sounds even better - a little throatier overall, and you can also hear more air being sucked in through the K&N.

Don't get me wrong - a normal person wouldn't know the difference, but if you hear the sound of your own engine on a daily basis, you would be able to hear these changes.

I know it might be the placebo effect but I am pretty certain it has enhanced the performance slightly, definately feels more spritely.

Nice clean engine bay. Agree with a more flowing filter but given that the airbox is not pressurised, the radiator acts like a wall for the air flowing through the kidney grills anyway and thus there is plenty of air to go vertically up into the air intakes, I doubt the scoops increase performance at all. Though good for getting a reasonable price for them if you like them as the RPI stuff is such a rip off.
