19" Rear Tyres changing to 265/30/19 width

I understand that by changing to 265 from 255 width this gives you better rim protection on 225 type alloys. For people that have changed to this are there any insurance or other implications, as these are a non recommended size? Are there any other benefits of increased width? Cheers in advance

I doubt theres any insurance issues because tyre width can be a preference and theres no rule book stating you must have 255s etc.

All I can say is that I'm very happy with my 255 rear Contis.
At first I was a bit concerned about rim protection but then I remembered how good the rim protection appeared to be with the Bridgestones yet as soon as it sniffed a kerb was next to useless.
Since read that oversizing actually does little for rim protection.

Just get off those rft!

Stick with standard sizes. Conti SC3 are the bowlacks.
