heated seats

is it possible to fit heated seats to a car that is not fitted with them from the factory?

I would think you can but I bet its not cheap. Your best option is to look on realoem and see if the heated seat elements have a part number.

Could you buy the heating elements? I would of thought your only option would be to buy two replacement front seats with the heating elements already embedded inside them.

When I had a Z4 leather seat cover replaced I noticed the new cover had the heating element already fitted not a separate part.

You can retrofit. Have a look at bmw fans or realoem. I think it helps if you have electric seats though.

Also to make it seemless you need the climate control module which is wired for them as well. That's big $$$ or pounds for you guys.

its the climate module that appears to be the problem plus the switches are 180, apparently all seat cover replacements have the elements in them but not the originals so even getting replacement seats with the elements wont work.

You can get the climate module off ebay for 80 and then keep an eye out for a set of heated seats. Thats probably your best option.

had a look couldnt find anything but will keep an eye out for one. ive now bought some fully electric seats with heaters so i now need to find out if these will work in my car which also has fully electric seats.

There is an OE retrofit kit, but it says for non-leather only, and you have to buy the control switches separately.
