Awesome

Thought the idea of the oil cooler and FMIC was great (if there was no heat soak).

Was wondering how the oil cooler worked in conjunction with the stock oil cooler (set-up, how it installed, etc.)

Are these for sale yet? How do we get them?

THANKS FOR SHARING!

I got following mail a week ago..

"The FMIC is going to be shipping as of March 24. Pricing is
950 and includes the oil cooler and all necessary parts.
There will be intro pricing probably around the 800-850
price point. Shipping is additional."

So there should be an update

I can help with orders. I spoke with Josh today and he's still making edits on the FMIC white papers which is why there's been a delay. These white papers contain all the vital information that we're looking for. I will certainly post all available information on here once I see it.

Edit: Just spoke with them, I think I managed to get the "rough draft" version. Crossing my fingers.

So, the oil cooler on top of the IC, is an extra, right? So, if purchase this set of IC with oil cooler, that's mean I have 2 oil coolers inside my car, how suppose this oil cooler to be worked and how is working?

It'll integrate the OEM unit. There's additional hardware that's include to make this system work.

If you want to be politically correct, you're getting an FMIC and the Oil Cooler is included.

ngoc, I got you covered.

Neat idea... but i'd rather have $100 off the FMIC rather than an oil cooler. I just never run my car hard for an extended time that would warranty even an extra lb. on my front end.

I just read the entirety of the white papers and I'm sold. cp-e has been my fav brand for over a year, and I've been holding out on a code3 JUST for this. I hope i can get in on that GB! Make sure you advertise on 1addicts too!

Sorry for the delay, I was unable to get mine installed the weekend I promised. We were working on boom's car (E90 335) to get his FMIC installed and between all the chillin and goofin around, we just ran out of time to do my car.

http://www26.zippyshare.com/v/8863958/file.html

There are some pictures from the install we did on Jake's car. Hope it provides you guys with some more visuals of the actual unit. There seems to be a lot of interest in this product so I think we can get a nice GB going! Look for a few of the e90post guys to post up some information on their unit very soon.

It functions more as an auxiliary unit in addition to your stock one. Thus, it will never get extremely hot and be detrimental to the performance of your FMIC. cp-e provides some new hardware to integrate it into your stock system. You can see from some of the pictures in that link I just posted.

Hey huyner, i wonder if CP-E would be interested in a used VK intercooler for "additional comparisons". Maybe, just maybe they'll offer a trade-up program!

Not sure... you'd have to ask Josh on that one. I'm sure someone on e90 classified would love a VK Intercooler!

I've attached the white papers for those that need some good reading material.

Unfortunately, not yet. Haven't been able to get some spare cycles to get a car in the hands of the cp-e engineers to engineer a solution for the non-O/C'd cars.

The FMIC can certainly function without it however

Great sounding product at what appears to be a reasonable cost. Sorry if this has been covered already, but is this setup compatible with any aftermarket oil coolers other than the OEM cooler? If yes, which ones? Thanks, DG
