E92 Xenon Headlamp

Hi someone reversed into the lovely car and although it was very very minor damage, the repair centre are going to change the headlamp (nothing wrong with it!)...

I'm a bit afraid that this is going to make the other side look a bit old...

Does anyone know if the lense can be purchased seperatly from BMW and how easy/hard is it to change??

Garage List
If they didnt suffer from burning it would be ok.

It will look daft with a brand new one, and an old burnt one on the other side.

no burining... it was just a little knock... i think the repair center are just trying to earn extra labour so they have decided to change it.

I've done a lot of motorway mills and i have had plenty of stone chips on the lamps now with one being new and the other with chips is going to look daft i reckon.

Unfortunately BMW will not sell you the lens separately. I don't understand why as there is a part number attached to it, but I've tried and they will only sell the entire headlamp assembly. You can buy the headlight from BMW but it is rediculously expensive. I was trying to buy a new headlamp for the wife's X5... 785 + VAT I suspect the E92 will be cheaper, but it will still be extortionate. You can also try these on eBay:

Well the adivse i've been getting is to just order some good glass/ plastic polish and apply it on the old one, this apprantly removes all the glare, light scratches and brings it up like new again... i've ordered some polish from ebay which had good reviews... hope it works!!
