Plywood sounds like a good idea.
I made the same blocks from some leftover soft wood and it's holding up so far if I use another piece like you on the jack. |

I bought a $2 hockey puck and cut it to fit the jack points. The hard rubber barely deforms at all.

For some reason my floor jack's claw only bit into the jack points on the passenger side of the car, for some reason the driver's side points sidn't crack at all.
Great idea on the hockey puck though, I'll most certainly pick one up and hack it to the right dimensions. |
