19 inch M sport alloys

Hi all. First post and i am thinking of purchasing a 335i Msport with 19 inch 225 wheels. Please can anyone post below if they have had these wheels with no cracking issues. This is the only thing putting me off a second hand 335.

Cheers

James

I think it's very much a case of which dealer you go through TBH

That should be the motto of all those with 225 style rims on their cars, I am religously avoiding them but it isn't always possible and the odd one does slip through the net!!

225s on my E92 with 29000 miles and so far no probs.
Just changed to Contisport Contact 3s non rft which might increase wheel life.

There 19" SE rims. There has been a few reports. But not half as many as 225's.

They look nice. Can you get them alloys on an M Sport? As i said before I am looking for a 335i but the alloys are putting me off. It's even swaying me in the direction of a TTs as I don't want this to tarnish BMW ownership.

You can get those wheels on a 335i SE but not an M Sport. When you go 335 you don't really need to go M sport as the 335 SE gets all the important parts of sport suspension and sports seats. Style 230 wheels look great and just add an aero front spoiler for about 300 to an SE and it looks great.

Mine dont have cracks - yet - after 31k miles.

However, tyres on the rears wear very unevenly, with the very inside of the tyre getting to canvas whilst the majority of the tyre is still at 5mm. My second set are going now after only 7000 miles. I don't know if this is exclusive to 225 rims.

Carlos, didn't you have inner edge wear issues on your 230 rims?

I bought my car with a shade under 6k on the clock and have since put a 1k onto her, my wear looks pretty even so far, will keep a close eye on the inner edges though.

I do like the 230's mate, but I am after a white 335i coupe with 19's and they all seem to have 225's.

How much is a new set of 230's just incase?

if you are buying a set of alloys, i would not buy 225s..

only get them if they come on your car.

Yeh BGM that's what I was going to do. If it comes with 225's and they do crack I'd get a set of 230's.
