Need a second set of TPMS seonsors for winter rims/tires?

Whats involved in swapping a TPMS sensor from 1 rim to another. Does it involve removing the tire from the wheel?

I'm getting a second set of rim/tires, should i get another set of censors?

easiest to just buy another set. You will have to remove the tires from the wheels, which depends on the price of the shop and tire size.

it will be cheaper in the long run if you just buy new sensors (mounting and balancing tires every 6 months can get expensive). i got my 2nd set through bavarianx for less than $200.

If you'd like a set, feel free to let me know, we're at about $205 with shipping for sets for the 2007-2009 cars.

I had my sensors removed without fully dismounting the tyre from the rim. In doing so I was asured the wheel didn't need to be re-balanced since the tyre hadn't shifted axially on the rim.

I would suggest if you have a winter set of wheels and a summer set that you invest in a second set of sensors. You'll recoup the cost in one year (two remounts of all four tyres).

Whether you need new censors, well, that's your call. I'm not in favour of censorship, myself.
