Here's a quote from my SA from when I ordered the car back in Dec:

"Also, FYI, it was too late to pull a 2010MY car/production number from the Euro Deliv pool. It was neccessary to cough up a pre-production X5 in my pipeline and actually trade your 2010 335 Ci production number in from a dealer on Portland, Oregon. Then another glitch came up where BMW's DCS system would not let me modify the chassis because BMWNA has the system in lock-down mode for end-of-year build-out. This meant I had to get further assistance from BMW's corporate office to go in and manually make the neccessary changes that you see on your attached build sheet. This was cutting it VERY close, because as of this morning (23 Dec), there are only four (4) modifiable 335 Coupes remaining in the pipeline for entire United States (almost 400 dealers). Whew...........that was too close for comfort."

So, if you wanted a custom built 2010 335i, your out of luck. They were still building them for a bit after that, but according to specs that had been decided by BMW NA long ago. So in truth, you could have ordered a new 335i, it just wouldn't have been exactly to the specs you want, like buying one off the lot, but in Munich. Kinda sucks that BMW cut the 2010 MY short to push the LCI's with N55's.

There will be thousands of pics, but you guys will get nothing but the best of them!

True. I'm pretty certain the crime rate is really low in Liechtenstein, so I'm not worried about a car jacking. And it's such a small country I'll be through it in 5 minutes. If I get in a fender bender, I'll just cross the street into Switzerland.

Going with your bro will be a blast. I asked one of mine but he was too busy so took one of my sons instead, which was great, but toned the driving pace down a few notches.

There are lots of great driving roads in the alps. Off the beaten path in N Italy or the Jugas...

Yeah, it should be the time of my life..... and his!! Blasting down the Autobahn, and through the Alps. Google Earth makes for some great trip route planning through the Alps. You get to find the nice mountain roads, and see what they look like before hand.

Parking is tight in Amsterdam but it's not TOO bad. I took my Honda Odyssey there twice and was able to park it in a garage. But the one guy is right....it's expensive. At least the exchange rate has gotten better recently...that's a plus right now for you. I think I paid like 35 Euro for a few hours that day but that was in a nice garage right across from the Hard Rock. So remember that one...

I'm heading out to Brugge this weekend (we have a 4 day!) and driving around Belgium a little....

We are definately heading up to Amsterdam again very soon...I think that's my favorite city to just walk around downtown and look at all the freaks walking around, lol...

Wow, looks like you had a lot of fun. I've only been to Naples/Pompeii, and Rome in Italy.

I lived there for three years, so I went to a lot of places. New York Doner Kebab in Landstuhl was one of my favorite doner shops, so I hope it's still there. Several bars and pubs in the area, although I'm sure they have new bartenders by now. The Cantina in Einsiedlerhof was surprisingly good Mexican food for Germany. Could care less for German Chinese restaurants, although the Japanese restaurant in downtown K-Town was pretty good, Suki Yaki I think. I'd drop 80 euro on sushi in that place. Then I went to Japan and got spoiled on all you can eat sushi for 2000 Yen (about $20)

Last time I was in Amsterdam I think I paid 45 Euro/day for a garage on the west side of town that was still within walking distance of downtown(1.5-2 mile walk mind you) The exchange rate was MUCH better when I was still there. Most places still took 1=1 for the dollar. Enjoy your holiday weekend.

Let the Journey begin

Made it to Germany without a hitch. Met up with my brother in Frankfurt International before going on to Munich. They are giving away 135i race cars at the Frankfurt airport. Not quite M3 GT2 quality, but nicely built none the less. Already enjoying everything Munich has to offer. Ate at the famous Hofbrauhous, complete with the 1L beer mugs. I'll be walking over to BMW Welt to pick up my car in just a few more hours, seeing a few sights along the way. Pictures are definitely going to follow.
