M3 Diff v. Stock Diff with LSD

Let discuss which is better and why?

M3 DCT 3.15 Ratio v. The Stock MT 3.08

I have a bolted Diff.

Price for Installed LSD about $2200

M3 LSD - Used $1200 Diff $700 Rear Axles $600 Driveline?

Is it worth it?

Joe

The M3 diff would definitely be better track-wise, but would necessitate maintenance.

But fitting and M3 diff requires modified drive shaft as far as I read, because the M3 one does not fit and the 335i does not fit either...are you prepared to do this ?

I am triyng to do this:
complete E92 M3 DCT 3.15 rear subframe + LSD + driveshaft (from 3MT) on my E93 6MT 335i

It needs a kind of adapter 30mm thick to adapt the gearbox output to the M3 driveshaft.....

Will post infos and pictures when done... in several weeks

big question is what you want from your car. daily drive? tracking? for tracking a Drexler or comparable lsd is better then a M lsd. BMW is using them themselves in e.g. the wtcc for a reason....
I find it a very big modification you're planning. respect.

the OEM M3 6MT drive shaft is 30mm shorter than the one of 335i 6MT

So it is easy to fit, it then requires a 30mm plate to close the "gap" between the shaft and the gearbox
this round plate will have to adapt the circle of the screws, the M3 is 105mm the 335i is 95mm ... see on realoem

I wonder if any tuning company is interested in manufacturing such an item...I think they could make some nice $200 per piece...
