And the missing under bonnet sound insulation, the tailored foam insert under the boot floor (not 335), the residual heat feature, the map pockets on the back of the front seats and the spare 12v socket! Oh and on some models, the deletion of the part electric seats (4 cylinder coupes) and servotronic steering.

I think we've exchanged these comments before and obviously agree that BMW have taken a retrograde step in quality. Crazy when you look at the new F10 cabin and even more so when you find out that both cars cost virtually the same, yet you're getting a lot more high-tech and metal with the 5.
Any wind of the next completely new E92 replacement?

Is that on good authority? I was going to keep my '08 E92 until the new 3 launch. Not so sure if it's 3+ years off.

When I got my 320d SE coupe in 2008 it was 1,000 dearer than a 520d SE. Now it's 2,000 more .

The 3er has had all these things stripped from it but they've put back leather as standard.

The 520d gets nothing stripped off it but gets leather, bluetooth, Professional radio, and automatic air con - none of which it had before.

They are taking 3 series customers for a ride.

Absolutely and if enough of us make a noise they might bear it in mind when designing the new 3.
I've already verbally and quite forcibly expressed my views to dealers in Aberdeen and Inverness; I think a letter to BMW would also be a good idea.
Perhaps we could get something going here...

Seems strange that BMW have stripped back the features that come as standard on the 3 series and charge more, but then add more to 5 series series as standard. Maybe the demand for 3 has been so high they feel they can take the piss lol.

Code in the price list is XE8 and you can find it in the ETK by searching for PIANOLACK

Car looks fantastic - Ruby black is a gorgeous colour. The only concern for me with an individual paint would be getting a perfect colour match for any chips/damage etc.
