Congrats on the new car.

I'm confused though about the model year.

I ordered a 2009 back in June 2009 and got one of the last ones built. It was built in July 2009 and production of '09s stopped sometime in August 2009 I believe.

Right now it is April 2010. Why would they not be still producing 2010 models?

I kind of think that with the 2012's being a totally new body design, they wish to extend the 2011's sales life as long as possible......not sure!

Not sure if it is true but my dealer said the reason that they brought out the BMW 2011s so early this year was that Mercedes-Benz brought out their new 2010s at this time last year, so MB was selling 2010s for 6 months while BMW were still selling 2009s. BMW didn't want to get caught twice this way so did a very short manufacturing cycle of 2010s.

Also, maybe because they were ready to launch the new 335i engine early.
