Exclamation EPL Sport Turbo Upgrade >> results

ok this was a long time coming, but I can finally share some info with you guys!

Here are the results from my initial test day. Remember this is an AWD Mustang Dyno so the numbers are smaller than most people are used to seeing on this forum. For comparable numbers to a typical dynojet, add 12% to what you see here. Everything you see here was done on Shell 93 octane pump gas.

Take note: The baseline you see on this graph is roughly ~20whp more than what would have been observed had I not had a completely catless exhaust + upgraded FMIC + intakes.



Peak gains: 40awhp/50awtq on pump gas alone

Baseline (w/ catless exhaust/fmic/intakes): 256awhp / 289awtq
Stage 3+ Stock turbos: 345awhp / 392awtq
Upgraded turbos: 386awhp / 443awtq

(And again, this is a mustang dyno.. so to compare to what people are used to seeing (dynojet) add 12% to those number)

I see you were boosting around 19 psi. What were you using for a tune?

i meant more that the curve confused me. It looks like the horsepower is obviously on a different scale but both sides of the graph show the engine torque scale.

Not doubting your numbers obviously just saying idk why the torque scale is on both sides.

oh yeah one more thing... we would be doing race-gas testing but my stock clutch is basically done. If you plan on upgrading turbos, plan on getting an upgraded clutch as well.

Very nice torque #'s, especially down low. You must keep your car under 3500rpm in most of your driving.
What was your psi on all three runs?

Hi E90post! I'm Robin from EPL, and I'm pleased to bring you guys this awesome upgrade.

Horsepower/TQ is scaled the same on that graph. Our Mustang dyno reads considerably lower than comparable dynojet numbers for the same car.

Please contact me via email (robin@eplabs.net), or at 203-345-6499 to reserve a set of turbos or just to get more information.

We are charging 17 hours to install the turbos on an XI all wheel drive car, or 14 hours to install them on a RWD car.

max was around 18.5-19 on the dyno

Comparing the stock turbo/tuned with the new turbo/tuned torque graph, looks like the stock turbo/tuned produces more torque before 3k rpm. Is this because of the turbo lag?

It's mainly due to the clipped turbine. The gains after that more than make up for it, in my opinion. But honestly you don't really feel much of a difference since you are usually up at 3000 or higher driving around

Hell most cars can't even use that much torque down low anyways you need AWD or drag tires to take advantage of it.

What condition do the stock units need to be in? What is acceptable?

I would assume they are stripped down for the machining and fully rebuilt but wanting to make sure.
