328i coupe winter rims & tires

Hey guys, I'm looking to pick up the 328i coupe and I'm definately putting on winter tires and rims but BMW want 3000$ for the set. Obviously I think thats outrageous and I should be able to do it for 33% of that figure.
My question is, am I okay putting on standard steel rims and tires (non-run flats)? Im asking because of the pressure sensor and whether that will have any adverse affect either technically or legally...
Thanks so much, in advance.

BMW steelies cost as much/or more then some Replica BMW wheels.
For winters your better going the Replica route because it cost about the same but your car doesn't look like shit. (I got a set of M5 reps plus Tires for alittle over $1100)

The Canadain 328is dont have the TPMS system they have in the US. So you'll be fine with any wheels.
