***Do not buy from sungmin***

Please see this thread for reference
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36753

Also look down a few posts, and you'll see sungmin whining about a $150 pair of shades! Now he's been giving me the runaround for my $1025!!

He even went as far as threatning to shred my certified check!! I guess the customer is not always right. My basic instinct as being an ex-spec ops guy is to hop a plane out to Cali, and handle this the right way. But if my money is not returned soon, I'll let law enforcement handle their end. You see since he decided not to return by a method that can be tracked, the burden is on HIM to prove he returned it. Not too smart on his part, since he refuses to also cooperate with my Bank. He is digging himself a hole here. I hesitated to post this a couple days ago, fearing I would not get my money back.

My only hope is that it comes soon. My ticket out there would cost $547. Oh yeah, I already checked!

Yeah, I am kinda floored about this. Like I said I gave him my work number, cell number. I offered to give him my bank reps number (he's being very helpful)and he refused to call him to verify the check. AND my banker even called him directly, which he claims he never got the message. Plus, I am out a grand for over a week now, and still have no wheels! I can't even buy another set right now from someone else, because I am out the money. What kind of idiot would send a certified check back regular mail?

I tried, they said he would have to sign a form that says he wont cash it, since I made it out to him. Of course he's not helping out. I should have just lied to the bank and say it was lost. It's just not in my nature. It's too late now anyway.

It's even better. My Bank said that they would take a faxed copy of his signature. He claims he can't receive a fax Must be some business he's running! I have his old address, but he said he just moved. The company is FTA Pros, if anyone knows of them? He lives in Carmichael, CA. I'm not that worried, he wouldn't be too hard to find. At this point I just want my f####ing money.
To those of you who don't know me personally...I will get it! Trust me on that one. It shouldn't be this way. He didn't like the deal, or had a bad feeling, fine. Return my money in a prompt manner, that is trackable. Like I got it to him. I called yesterday, and he still had not sent it back yet!? I ask you, is this any way to handle a customer?
The point of this was so that it doesn't happen to any other members. I would not buy from sungmin (Mike Choi)or from www.ftapros.com.
If anyone has had good dealings with this guy I'd like to hear about it. I don't see how it's possible, but maybe it would make me feel better about me getting my check back.

Well, it sure doesn't look like much of a business. I guess customer service is not his strong suit. I still do not understand all of this How can I have made it easier for him?

Can't go to a diff. bank branch and re-tell your story, claiming it lost?

Sucks, good luck man. He sure did have an attitude in that other thread.

Bad attitude is an understatement! I have been dealing with the public for 15 years, and NEVER treated someone like he did. Even a simple question like "when are you sending my check back?" was not answered directly. He even whined about overnighting it stating it would cost $20. I said I would Paypal him $25 since I didn't want my certified funds going regular mail, he refused, said he didn't feel comfortable with me, and hung up. Huh? You have my money, and don't feel comfortable? Isn't that something!

it's probably not a good idea to change his story now, his branch probably has it on record to "wait for the cheque recipient to fax a confirmation". so if he goes to another branch and change his story, his bank will probably be suspicious of him

and yeah, he was definitely sporting some poor communication skills with ZuerstBMW, ZuerstBMW is a nice guy and was reasonable to him

Yeah, I can't lie to them now. I wouldn't anyway. Honesty is always best. I did nothing wrong here. People who abuse others always get theirs. This I am sure of. It just sucks sometimes. I think what bothers me most is not just being out the money. And, not getting the wheels that I need, is that he actually accused me of being dis-honest. Right now that jerk is sitting on my hard earned cash, AND giving me a bunch of shit. And I basically have to "be nice" so i get it back!

Well, I'm not happy about it, that's for sure. The bank has an investigator looking into it, who called someone out in the Sacremento area. I just have to wait until "reasonable" time to see if he returns it. They told me not to call him until 4 days goes by. I thought that was pretty cool of the bank to help out.

sure is, that is very nice of your bank
I went to Baltimore for a business trip once, and was staying at the downtown holiday inn for the duration of the trip, somebody at the hotel got a hold of my credit card number and was charging bogus fees to my room AFTER I was already back in Canada! Called Visa, and they took care of everything, refunded the money first before they launched an investigation.

Well, unfortunately he refused my Paypal, so I have no recourse with VISA. And, truth be told, the investigation is not free! I just want to insure I get my money back. I'd rather pay $70 to get a thousand.
