Anyone ever replace Steering Column and or CAS MODULE?

has anyone ever replaced either of these or both at the same time? Ran with a battery dieing and a steering lock symbol on car for a few days and obviously steering wasnt locked. Then one day battery is dead and steering wheel is locked.Anyone have this issue or something like this before? Do you know what programming it needed?

Can't really give you any advice on it, but here's my similar experience.

Got into the car, CAS accepted and locked the key in, and then a faulty battery cable completely disabled every single electrical system in the car, locks, windows (including going down a little when you open them), trunk opener, and CAS.

As you could imagine since there was no power to the CAS I couldn't get the key out, and since the battery was locked in the truck I couldn't replace or tamper with the faulty cable. Metal key wouldn't open the trunk either.

I had to hook another car up to the lead under the hood, which gave me just enough power to get the key out of the cas and the trunk open.

I doubt that really helps you but it was a very irritating experience and I felt the need to share.
