BMW Performance Exhaust from Stock Exhaust

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in the modified stock exhaust that sounds exactly like a performance exhaust. Basically the exhaust housing on the e90s all share the same housing be it a performance housing, a 335is housing, or a stock housing. The muffler housing is all the same. The biggest difference between the those lines are the internals of the mufflers themselves.

My friend Leslie is the one that gets them fabricated for you. We had one made already and we put it on a stock car and it sounds exactly like the pe because the internals are modified to be exactly like a pe. He found a wrecked pe on a wrecked car and cut it open as well as cut opened the stock exhaust and compared the two

The exhaust flapper valve or butterfly valve is also removed to give you the rattle free noise that doing the golf tee mod or any variation of such would cause.

Right now the cost to fabricate is $400 plus the return of your stock exhaust core.

Essentially get the pe for a third of the price.

You can reach leslie at 647-922-fivefive4five for more info.

I'll post pictures and a video of the noise on this page as it becomes available.

Completed projects:

E90 - 335i - Video coming soon.
E92/E93 - 335i - Video added

Upcoming projects:

E90 - 330i
F30 - 335i

Videos:

**note** - All videos are recorded using a professional boom mic. They will capture the true sound of the exhaust better than any built in mic can. What it sounds on video in terms of pitch and tone will be identical in real life. However the actual decibel level will be louder in person than over speakers. Videos are marked where appropriate if another mic was used or the recording conditions are different.

Recorded using a professional boom mic. Use headphones or good speakers to really be able to hear the sound.

335i Coupe stock exhaust, if you have a stock exhaust use this as your reference as the recording conditions were the same:

335i Coupe Leslie's PE Modded exhaust:

-10db to prevent mic blow out. Will sound 10 decibels higher in person. It was adjusted on the mic to prevent the exhaust from blowing out the mic. You can hear a bit of that happening at the top ranges.

335is coupe AR Downpipes (catless) with the perf exhaust (Cold Start):

-10db to prevent mic blow out. Will sound 10 decibels higher in person.

335is coupe just the exhaust on the track:

- Recorded using the go pro with the stock mic. Can't hear everything but just as a reference.

It can be done. But it takes like 4-5 hours of fabrication time.

You could either drop off the car and come back when it's done or he can lend you a modified one for the time being.

To be honest. The sounds and performance gains will be the exact same as the pe.

There's no difference between the modified one then the pe.

I think on a business perspective, if he wants to sell it like hot cakes. He should sell it to the first few guys at cost, then have them do some dyno runs and post results here.

I'm curious to hear a clip, too. Sound is subjective.

Zero_09, I have the black chrome Cyba exhaust tips already on my stock muffler.

Sounds like a plan I'll pitch it to him. I know that at least one has been sold already and two more people have placed the order.

I'll let you guys know as more info develops but you heard it hear first

You mind me asking where you get your exhaust tips from and where you got it installed?

I understand the the tips you have to get welded on? Is that correct?

Cyba is a vendor here on the forum.
Any mechanic can get them welded on to your exhaust

So he uses our stock exhaust and just modify it sound the the BMW PE exhaust?
I'm assuming everything is installed after he's done with it right?

I'm interested in getting this done once I get my exhaust tips. Where is he located btw?

I've heard 4 of these in person and honestly it doesn't sound like the PE really. It sounds nice and has similarities to the PE, but it just doesn't have that weird sexy ripping sound the PE seems to have.

That's because most of those aren't actually like the pe exhaust. Have you ever compared the pe to the modified ones? Is it usually on the sedan?

Also the butterfly valve might still be in place.

I doubt it is exactly like the pe, but I'll wait for a proper video showing the comparisons.

Garage List
2009 328xi, e92  [0.00]
2006 325i, e90  [0.00]
Is ur friend looking to buy stock exhausts to modify as well?

I just had a PE installed last week and I have my stock one sitting around in my basement now.

Be glad to let him use my car in a comparison video of a PE vs his modded muffler too if that helps.

I went over to have a listen yesterday. It sounded good and subtle.
Sounds stock in the interior during normal riding and cruising.
Exterior you can definitely hear the exhaust note, but nothing crazy.

I heard you need to break it in before it really sounds good.

Do you think it's worth it or should I just go for the OEM BMw performance exhaust?

All of the modified stock exhaust could copy the shape of the PE, but failed to duplicate the sound. Noise vs Sound is a very easily differentiate just by standing behind the car. I had followed the thread in this forum for so long that most modified stock exhaust could be noisier than stock, in terms of noise level, but not the tone and frequency of the PE.
