Window Tinting in Toronto - $120

Hi I'm actually new to this forum. Currently I've found a shop tint the window of my car (E90 BMW 325). The shop only charged me $120, plus provided a Life Time Warranty. The guy is working for couple dealership now, e.g. Acura, BMW..etc.. I'm not sure if I can share this good news here.

If you guys are interested, you can call the following number. Remember to mention which tint you would like to use.. I chose 35% on mine tho..

Sunny (647) 962-3113

Due to all the request, here are some of the pics after the tinting (35%).

The one I chose is not the ceramic one. but i guess he might have this kind of tint as well, of course with difference price. If you are interested, it's better to call him and ask for a quote. Best deal I've ever found. The most impot. is the life time warranty. Even many shops claim that they will offer life time, you might have hard time if you actually go back for whatever reasons.

For me I did go back once, I've made a small scratch on the front passenger side window 6 days after the tint.. He just look at it for 2 seconds and replaced the whole piece tint for me.. During the whole process, he didn't even give me any hard time on it. That's why I'm trying to recommend him to whoever need to tint their window in this forum.

Oh ya, he uses the computer program to cut the tint, so the shape is gonna be as precise as it can be.

couple of things. first, the old adage "you get what you pay for" likely applies here. when getting a tint, it's a good idea to go with a reputable shop and if you do a search on the forum, you will see a number of places that have been recommended by other members. price should not be the determining factor. also, any good shop uses a computer to cut the tint. if you are going somwhere where the installer is estimating the size for your windows, then good luck to you! finally, people get too excited about "life time warranties". how long are you going to own your car? also, how long has the tint shop been in business? usually, the warranty comes from the manufacturer, i.e. Pinnacle. that's what I would focus on.

I see... however my point is... before I did the window tinting, I've heard a lot of mixed things from my friends or from other shops. For example, My friend went back to a shop for warranty because one side of tints started to peel off after one year or so. The shop refused to re-tint the window for him unless he was willing to pay $ 50 for labour. It doesn't make sense. Also, Life-time warranty is very important. Due to the weather conditions, personal usage or even the scratch caused by rolling up or down the window, the tint can be appeared as some kind of issues after a while of time, you can't avoid it.

And you asked how long I usually keep my car, not that often and it's totally not necessary to me.. I usually keep each of my cars for around 4-5 years before I sell it. Reasonable? Some people might think it's not.

Last, You are right, price shouldn't be the most important factor to be considered. but how about if the quality is superior and the price is competitive... then.. why not? My friend went to a most recognized shop in Toronto.. I believe the shop is called ..."auxxxxxxshack",,, or something like that.. They quoted me $200 + tax for my car. My friend went there for his Subaru....couple months later, he went back because of the scratches... the shop refused to fix it for him and told him it's not the shop's fault... Up to here, clearly points out that more pricey doesn't mean that it's definitely better. Just my two cents.

Apeyuen, how's the tint along the rear window heater lines and dot matrix?

Would you mind posting a few photos.

Since I've only tinted my windows for about a month or so. Everything still looks like new. The tint sticks on the heater lines perfectly.. no bubbles or moisture at all (water marks and moisture gone away after around 3 days)...However, I'm not sure what's meant by dot matrix.. i assume you are talking about the dots on the edge of the rear window.. The tint won't stick on those dots.. I even asked another shop.. I have been told that it's normal and the tint won't stick on the dots.

I just got mine tinted today. The installer had a heck of a time on my back window. It's somewhat white/blotchy towards the top (where the group of dot matrix sits) and a tiny horizontal blemish on the heater lines. Hopefully it will look better once it's had time to cure a bit.

What IS the purpose of the dot matrix lines? They "sanded" the very top of my driver and passenger side windows a little to get the tint to apply.

I believe so. but it's better for you to call him to confirm. I heard that he is going to change the price during the spring time before the summer (where the peak season is), since this offer was only a promotion.

I love reading posts like this. You drive a BMW yet you are "broke" and can't afford $140 for a tint? Epic.

I don't think that's a fair statement, most of the people on this forum and who own a bmw in general drive models that cost less than a fullly loaded camry, accord and other similar brands available in the market.

Just because it has a premium name plate does not mean it costs more.
