![]() Thanks! However, the Meth helps keep it running cooler... ![]() Quote:
Thank you! ![]() Wow... really love the compliments! The car will be at Bimmerfest 2010 as the official car of BMW of Beverly Hills... I'm sure they'll be glad to know about all of these compliments! Quote:
As for the performance mods - I am very happy with how the car came together... the balance is absolutely PERFECT. Really looking forward to tracking the car next weekend at Cal Speedway with BMW CCA! ![]() Thanks! ![]() Quote:
I am very happy with the Brembos. The wonderful thing about them is how they work. Unlike the BMW setup which tend to be very snappy (quick on and off), the Brembo's have a very progressive nature to them... makes it possible to modulate the brakes precisely for track use. Each piston is individual tuned for actuation off of the flow from the master cylinder. Its this precision to detail and functional operation that sets Brembo apart from the other vendors such as Stoptech and Rotora. -Daniel

Car loves you back. ![]() Thanks for the compliment! ![]() I need to stress this... the car is NOT dropped. It is indeed lower than stock, but I actually have both the front and rear elements set at their HIGHEST setting. Lowering a car without serious modifications to the control arms results in radically throwing off the vehicles balance/handling. The car is set at its optimum height for track use. Quote:
Thanks! ![]() Thanks but... LOL! "So far?" And I just got a comment saying "too busy." I'm curious what else you think there remains to be done? As I posted earlier, there are only three mechanical things that I could still do (absent the myriad of little add-on gadgets) and really not much else that is left as an option. Yes, I suppose there's the whole body panel replacement deal... but that's not really my thing. Was there something else you were thinking about? -Daniel

The carbon fiber I have on the front of my car is worth more than the VRS v35... not to mention I lose my fog lights and it throws the balance off on the car. Not interested - its a different look from what I want.

he's talking about the hood..and i think the kersher splitter doesn't look that great.. you have a carbon fiber splitter on top of a carbon fiber splitters... a little redundant, no? I do love the bbk however.. but with that kind of money invested in brakes, i would have gotten some nicer wheels..

The fitment on the SF-71's is perfect... very happy with how it came together. Quote:
![]() I realize I've completely blown past the "wolf in sheep's clothing" look and no longer pass as a sleeper - but a CF hood just seems a bit too loud for my taste. BUT then again... I once said the same thing about CF elements in general... so we'll see. As for the splitter tips and the splitter board... they are not redundant and they serve different functions. The M-Sport bumper curves up at the leading edge in the middle an ultimately this is a lift issue. The splitter board does break laminar air flow to the leading edge of the front of the M-Sport bumper and effectively improves front end stability - even if I get 50 pounds of force out of it... it helps - and its properly bolted through and through to support the stress. As for the rims - ok, they're not your taste, but I do like them. As for caliber of product, I think for the price point they're at, they're excellent. My last car was running on Morr VS7's and I was part of the original design group and group buy on the initial launch of the VS7. And ever since I've been a staunch supporter of Carlos Mora and his product. I think he's fantastic and I think his product is great. The SF-71 is not intended to be on par with the VS7. It is however, an excellent product in its segment and I'm enjoying them for now - and when Carlos releases a successor to the VS7 later this year, I will be sporting those as well. (As to why I'm not running my old VS7's, I had to help a friend out who had a 1 damaged VS7, gave him one of mine... and then opted to try something new for a short time with my new car). Ummm... why do you say that? It wasn't a goof... it was intentional. The last thing I want on the track is an electronic system managing my steering input. -Daniel

This thing looks amazing. I love the stickers of the tracks on the rear side window. Took me a while to figure out just what the hell they were
![]() I like the rims! They add to the track-ready effect.

Thanks!
Thank you very much. ![]() Quote:
I wanted to get a good combination between genuine performance mods and some aesthetic tweaks. It seems to me that most of the tuning that is done in this community is either one side of the equation or the other... I tried to get a bit of both into the car without any compromise. I think it worked. ![]() -Daniel
