Thumbs down ASR Engineering Bad Experience

Late December of last year I decided to place a order of the ASR Engineering Exhaust for my E60 M5 through a group buy occurring on the M5 Board. Prior to transferring the full amount via wire I asked when the exhaust will be shipped. The answer was early in January. I received my invoice on the 31.12.2009, what great service I thought. At this stage emails where exchanged and pm's at a rapid pace.
Payment was made on the 6.01.2010 and everything went down hill from there. To date I have not received the exhaust, I have actually asked for a refund several times without a response.
The excuses on the rare times Abid has communicated with the forum are starting with a problem with the boxes, to next week to next week to next week, to the secretary was pregnant etc. He did come on the forum and apologize for the bad service sometime in March and ensured everyone that next week they will get there exhausts. I think three exhausts out of the 100 he claims he was manufacturing to date have been shipped to the forum people. Some people are waiting 7 months for a refund. He still chooses not to communicate with anyone.

For anyone with a hour to read this is how it has gone down: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/m5-...group-buy.html

Abid's business practices leave much to be desired. He's been shady since his days @ SFP (South Florida Performance). I would steer clear from that individual.

I still have not had one phone call from Abid to hear about my refund or the progress of the turbos. I seriously need some advise on how to get my money back from this guy and only after about 10 E-Mails he then sent me a invoice. And he sent me an email stating I have breched his contract by wanting my money back because he said it was a non refundable deposit but he has exceeded his promise time of delivery which was 3 weeks. HELP PLEASE ! ! ! !

I have decided to bring this issue back to the top for protection of the forum users.
A arrangement was made with Abid from ASR Engineering to refund my money in installments over a few months. I received US$500 of the US$3320 owed in December 2010. The balance was suppose to be sorted by February 2011.
Since then Abid has seized to respond to any communication. So I still have a amount of US$2830 outstanding to me and he has been sitting with the total value since January 2010.
What great treatment to a customer that paid up front the full amount when requested. I haven't even received the equivalent of what the shipping was meant to be on my exhaust purchase. Talk about a class act.

If it's been 1 2/3 years since the transaction and you're still waiting. . . It's more than obvious that they've spent your money when they accepted your offer of installments. . . I wouldn't have accepted nothing but a full refund.

It almost reminds me of a ponzi scheme. . . The way they take money with promise of return(high end exhaust) and then are unable to produce results(money or delivery of product) since they probably have no money left.

Sorry to hear of your circumstances.

Have you lawyer call them up or send them a notice just as a scare tactic and see if they respond.

George, why didn't you just dispute the charge with your credit card (assuming that was your method of payment)..

I am based in South Africa so getting lawyers is not so easy for such a small amount.

as great as their upgraded turbos seem to be for the 335i...i would not even consider them due to their huge fumble in the M5 community. sorry to hear your issues continue George...that really sucks.
