2007 335i CPO Black Sapphire Mettalic Long Island NY

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None
Item Interest

So as the title says, I am putting my 2007 335i Sedan Steptronic up for sale. It is Black Sapphire Metallic outside and Black Dakota leather inside, with walnut wood. I am the second owner of the car, and it had 24,500 miles on it when I bought it last May. I bought the car from Habberstad BMW and had it Certified there. It currently has 56,*** on the clock.

It has, Premium Pkg, Sport Pkg w Paddles, Cold Weather Pkg, and Navigation with current 2010 disc and original 2007.2 disc. Of course it has the Logic 7 System as well but that was standard in 2007.

It has an original in service date of 03/2007 and is a CPO car. Therefore the original 4/50,000 is up 03/2011 and the 6/100,000 CPO warranty is up 03/2013.

The car does have the Oil Cooler, and all maintenance has been done at Competition BMW in Smithtown, including doubled up synthetic oil changes. It has had it's HPFP and LPFS replaced at around 25,000 miles, and from looking back into the service records the HPFP was also replaced at around 5k.

Mods-

17% Window Tint on all side windows and 5% limo tint on the rear windshield. The install was very professionally done and the dot matrix looks good and there is virtually no bubbling. Overall this tint in combination with the dark interior is VERY dark. I have not gotten pulled over for it, but someone that drives more aggressively than I do might.

K & N Drop in Filter about 15,000 miles ago. Probably needs re-oiling soon.

I bought a set of black scoops here but never installed them, I will include those as well.

All Mods will be included in my asking price.

Driving Style- I use this car largely for work and as such it has mostly been driven on the highway and not a lot on the street. I decided to go up to a 535i or 550i since I feel I need a bigger car.

I am a car enthusiast that has been in the car business since I was 19. I have sold cars, and now I work for AutoTrader.com, so I have seen all kinds of conditions and cars, and I tell you honestly this car is a 9 out of 10. I hand wash it and wax it, and hasn't been smoked in. I don't allow food to be eaten in it, and in general am fanatical about keeping it clean and good looking.

Being that I know people in every local dealer but specifically in Habberstad and Competition I can probably get the buyer a very good deal on the extended maintenance, or maybe even the current CPO financing package... 2.9 for 60 months. If you are interested in either of those things please let me know and I will try to assist you in anyway possible.

The car currently has 4 new tires. I just bought General UHP's, so you will enjoy many miles before needing new rubber!

There are some very minor scratches, road chips, and a ding on the car, however it has not been in any accidents, and has a clean car fax. Since the original post, the car has some kisses from the curbs and would require some minor refinishing of the wheels. Again overall I would say this car is a true 9 out of 10 and is retail ready.

So how much...

I looked around and found the market ranges from low 30's with super low mileage all the way down to low 20's with high clocks without certification.

BUMP Final Price Drop... Must Sell this week!!!!!!! $24,995 !!!!!!I am losing over $2,500 at this price, but I need a bigger car! It has 4 new General UHP tires replaced about 8k miles ago, and I can get you the current BMW certified financing at 2.9% for 60 months through a local dealer in NY if you qualify for their credit.*** Already down $6,500 from my starting price!

***REMEMBER this is a Certified pre-owned car with the 6 year-100,000 mile Warranty ***

*** 08/05/10 I just had the car serviced and it now has brand new rear brakes to match the front ones done in late march. ***

*** FREE with purchase will be a complete interior and exterior DETAIL***

Thanks for looking!

Just a quick note... a 2006 330i w/ sport / prem / cw packages (50k on the odo) can be had for 15k at manheim. I didn't look into 335i, but I agree w/ the other comment that the price is steep for today's market...

Just picked up my 335 within a month ago from Manheim, and it's much different in price for the market vs. a 330.

2006 models are out of New Warranty, and there's a big premium in the market for 335 over 330's.

A similarly spec'ed 335 from OP will probably go for 22-23K without CPO in above average condition. IMO, 330's can't be used as a benchmark for the price. The market knows the difference.

First off... Manheim is an auction where only licensed dealers can buy from so the numbers that dealers pay are not really relevant to a retail sale. The only impact that those numbers have is that dealers set their pricing based off of those figures because that is what they have paid for their cars.

What people don't see is that once the car comes from Manheim to the dealer it needs to be shipped, prepped and shaped, and finally certified.

I work very closely with the dealers here on Long Island as I work for AutoTrader.com and I can tell you without hesitation the average Manheim car takes $3000-$4000 worth of work, transportation and fees before being established as a retail piece on their lots.

Transportation from the auction and the fees associated is at least $700-$1000 per car depending on the proximity to the auction itself.

Then reconditioning and shaping is anywhere from $1500-$2000 on average for a certified BMW. Take for example tires alone are $1500 for a set of run flats installed with an alignment.

Lastly they have the actual certification cost which I won't share the exact number of but it is well over $1000.

So for example a 07 335i with my options and miles might go for $22,000-$23,000 at Manheim, but by the time it gets back and is shaped and certified the dealer now has at least $26,000 into the car and is asking $30,000 or so.

If you don't believe me look it up on the retail sites like mine. The cheapest match to my car on AutoTrader.com this morning was $28,000. I am asking $28,900. Is it a little high for private seller... yes... but then again if you read my listing I can get a local dealer to book it for you, get you the low BMW financing, and you will actually be buying it from the dealer not me!

My car is lot ready, and realistically I am asking only what I owe on my car so that I can move on to a bigger vehicle. I will continue to drop the price every time I make a payment so please expect that price to go down about $500 per month until the car sells. If someone is interested in working a deal or making an offer please send me a PM and I will see what I can do.

Thanks for reading and hopefully learning something about how the retail side of the business works.
