video: SPEC Stage 3 clutch + aluminum flywheel

I'm going to hold off on a more in-depth review until I'm done breaking this in (another 700 miles to go) but so far it feels great. The car feels much more "on it's toes", if you will. It revs much quicker than before, and grabs oh-so nicely. I'm still getting used to the new engagement point, which is higher than stock. I actually really like the new position as it's much more suitable for my short legs.

The SPEC clutch and 14lbs aluminum flywheel weigh less than the stock flywheel by itself. I dropped around 30-35lbs or so with this setup.

At 0:19 seconds into the video you'll see what the chatter noise/level is like. I know it's not for everyone, but in my case I love the weight loss and new gripping power and just overall feel - The performance of this clutch/flywheel combo outweighs the added sound in my opinion.

Nice vid, those RPMs really do go up much quicker with that flywheel..noise isn't that bad honestly...i've just ordered ClutchMasters FX400 ceramic and their flywheel ... is your flywheel a one/two piece? This CM one is 16lb though (2lb heavier)..

its definitely not for everyone, but so far I don't mind it at all. the car feels too good even while just breaking it in to care about the noise

Oh yes there should be. The car has chatter stock, but BMW uses this bulky two piece dual mass flywheel to mask it. The stock flywheel even has about a 20 degree flex between the two disks to mask more noise. The bottom line is the engine pulses are noisy and they are masked (and poorly if you ask me) with the dual mass flywheel. The LWFW just makes the sounds more noticeable.

This is getting old!

We have a great relationship with Spec and their products are holding up perfectly in many projects we have built, including a 770HP Audi S4 (daily driven), and an 800HP 996TT (daily driven).

When installed and broken in properly, they are fantastic clutches.

Once Jonah's gets broken in we'll post a launch video with this clutch. I'm sure you guys will like it!

im glad you have a great relationship, it just proves my point that individual customers typically don't get that while shops do. So why should I be disadvantaged because I paid full retail price for their clutch, ordered it directly from them and got it installed at one of if not the best indy shop in Toronto? They admitted that the SAC was misaligned or something and said it was due to shipping or the installer's error. Ok, well if the installer is incompetent, why does he have the best reputation in Toronto and second, why is my current OEM clutch (which he also intalled) holding up perfectly? Are you implying that I dont know how to break in a clutch or I intentionally damaged it (illogical, and literally impossible to abuse clutch during winter conditions)? Nothing you say changes the fact that SPEC f-ed me over during my transaction with them.
