E92 335i -> BMW Performance suspension ride drop

I ordered the BMW Performance suspension kit, i'll let my dealer install it.

What will the ride drop be front and rear? BMW says the drop is 25mm (0.98 inch) but i'm guessing front will drop more than rear. Am i correct?

On an E92, probably 1/2 inch just from what I have read for many months. I'm very interested in the kit. I like that it comes with a new sway bar. When people drop their cars they are changing the geometry on the sway bar. The result is needing to add length to the sway bar to get back to the original geometry so you get the most out of the bar. The kit comes with a new longer bar.

For other kits, you can go to HP autowerks who sells some adjustable end links: http://www.hpashop.com/product.sc?pr...categoryId=119

Thanks, i like um... especially the duo-tone, it allmost perfectly matches the color of the car.

The drop should be 0.5 inch when compared to the sports suspension. Compared to stock suspension it should be a bit more. But i'm still wondering if the front and rear drop differ.

Btw, does the warranty void if i install spacers? I think the rear tires should move an .25 inch or so outward.

My rear drop was about 1/4 inch and front about 1/2 inch. The front will drop more than the rear on the couple I have done now.

i've never heard of anyone having warranty issues after installing spacers.

The spring rate is 48% stiffer than the base stock suspension and 34% stiffer than the factory Sport suspension. The spring travel for the front axle is 26 mm and 12mm for the rear, which greatly reduces body roll in combination with the thicker sway bars. The 25 mm drop with this setup also helps alleviate some of the unwanted wheel gap the stock car is known for (10 mm compared to the factory sport suspension).

Is this BMW performance susp. kit come with both sway bars or just the front? According to the description a Tischer, it only come with the front sway bar.

Front. You need it with the front drop to adjust the length (longer) to keep the original sway bar geometry. You can always update the rear to the m3 sway, but if you are back there working you might as well do all the m3 suspension bits at the same time. I think the BMW performance suspension is a nice upgrade that is somewhere between stock and m3. If you want your BMW to be closer to an M3 then get the BMW performance suspenstion and add the complete m3 parts package that Tischer or HP Autowerks can sell you. For a daily driver, the BMW performance suspension is probably all you will need unless you are going for a bigger drop, and then other after-market coilover kits can accomplish that for you.

Got a call from my BMW dealer/garage today, june 8th my E92 is getting it's new suspension installed... i'm combining it with some other maintenance work, so i'll be driving a loaner for 2 days. I can choose any car they have on the lot, made a deal with the sales people. Thinking about an X6 35i or 5 GT. Maybe a F10, 530d.

One of the better exchanges I have read in a while...

I am contemplating this kit myself. Either this or the Dinan Stage 2. No doubt the Dinan is a good kit, but I just can't get past my gut feeling that it is not worth twice as much as the BMW kit.

Zneek - I just ordered the kit to.

Many Moons - I agree Dinan may be a little better, but for a car I drive a couple days a week and don't track I can't see paying another $1000 for stage 2 that probably just includes the M3 front sway at 2.5 times the cost of ordering it directly from tischer.

I just want to tighten things up a little. Next mod will be M3 rear guide rods for about $350. They should make a big difference in going straight at launch and not having the rear end kick out as much. They are less than an hour install time so it seems like a no brainer addition.

I drive my E92 daily, 50-50 city/highway, so i need something that combines: driving dynamics, comfort and looks. So i decided on BMW Performance. Added bonus was that BMW PP can be installed with BMW warranty intact.

The M3 parts (upper arms and guide rods)in the rear did nothing to make my car hook up better, At the limit handling, yes. You get more bang for the buck by doing M3 parts for the front.

My E92 is going in for the BMW Performance suspension upgrade next week (tuesday, 8th of June). I'm getting a BMW 5GT loaner for two days.
