OK.. here's the pic...
pic #1, from afar
pic#2, connection on the trunk light.
pic#3, connection on the left parking light.
pic#4, connection on the right parking light.
pic#5, the diagram on how it's connected.

NOTE: do it at your own risk. I've been using this method to get rid of warning sign for 2 months now. So far no problem. But who knows. The wire color on the diagram is based on my car 2005 E90 320i. Other model might differ.

Drawback: If you connected to both side of parking light like I did, when one bulb fails (L or R), there will be no warning sign unless both bulbs fail (L&R). & as you already knew, no warning sign for failing LED bulbs.

hey just wanted to know....
the link u gave us for the bulb u got, is for WHITE LED.
which is pretty sick.
say we wanted the BLUE LED instead, i found this one on ebay too for the same price:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....ayphotohosting
its the same size, and im pretty sure everyhting is the same cept its blue instead of the white one in the link u sent us
wat i wanna know is, will this one work as well? its only 1 pc, so u obvioulsy have to buy 2 of them which will prob run around 12 US shippd.

I would ask seller to put up a listing in US dollars. It will be $4 for each plus $1.80 shipping for first and $1 for second. The total should be $10.80

BTW isn't blue is a little extreme for a License Plate

Dear all,

This page is of course one of the most quoted in many world-wide forums, because this bypass works very well for cheating the onboard system and you can forget about soldering around for hours on some resistors.

It even works with only one bypass to one LED lamp, leaving only 20 mins of work. Ie, just bridge either the yellow-black to the grey-brown or the yellow-purple to the grey brown. It saves a lot of sticky fingers since that original BMW tape is just messy. Since the license plate light is parallel, the onboard model will think that from whichever light bulb the bypass is made, all three bulbs (bridged parking light + 2 LED lamps) are the same.
Check out my story to this:
http://www.bmw-forum.de/topic28685.html

Sorry, it's all in German, but the pictures speak for themselves and the mod is described equally well here.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, maybe my English is not perfect, but there might be a mistake in the descriptions here. One thing is to change the trunk light in to LED, the other is to change the license plate light to LED. Looking at the wire chart above, the middle one should actually say "license plate light", shouln't it? Because you need to bridge the LP light in order to get no error message for changing the LP lights to LEDs. This one claims that you need to reach as far as the trunk light and bridge that in order to get no error for the LP light. Way too complicated, and wouldn't do the job, unless the trunk light is running on the same wire as the LP lights... (?)

Anyway, thanks for the inspiration!
...and for getting rid of all the resistor lectures.

All the best,
Cowboy
