A bit of an update. It seems that starting guidance opens up the current location screen (main screen). That is all that is new in how Progman 24 works thusfar.

It does seem faster in task switching however (compared to 22).

Can you post some pictures of the interface changes?

My sources haven't a clue on this - I thought perhaps someone here might have an inkling.

Is the new keypad for telephone for iDrive cars? If so, do you have a picture of what it looks like? Thanks.

Ja, it is for cars with iDrive.

Nein, no photo available but the keyboard is now persistent when you make a call rather than having to be summoned via a popup window.

True. But it was your "is it German" comment that got me laughing.

Progman is means program manager, just like in Windows.

not sure if it's part of the progman 24, but my car after being reprogrammed has a much less aggressive roll back protector(manual trans)

it doesn't hold the car on slight inclines anymore, only on more steep grades. I like the change alot, but i'm not sure if it's because of the new software....

When did they start installing Progman 24 on new builds? I know yours isn't a new build but some on this board have vehicles on order and will find it useful to know.

Here is a little chart on release dates. It is generally accepted that the versions you see here are installed on new vehicles coming off the line prior to seeing the SIB announcing an update for older builds.

When you put your car in for service request you receive a copy of the "Measures Plan or "Final Report" be provided to you when you pick up car. These are run if you have a problem, do a retrofit requiring software upgrade, or there is a repair involving a progammable module (CCC, M-ASK, DME, EGS, IHKA, LM, and so on). Either or both these reports will provide the Target Data Status information that can be used to determine Progman (CIP) version.

How long did your Progman 24 update take? I go in on January 2nd for Progman 24 and the iPod Retrofit. Really hope it goes smoothly and gets completed in the same day.

Just had the i-pod adapter installed Tuesday in the 06325i and new software program installed. I had the Bluetooth issue so the last software install in my car was last January. Dealer had the car for the day but had it ready by 4:00PM. This time I only lost the pairing of the phone, personal setups and radio stations preselections. The BMW Assist was fine, Bluetooth worked and the phone car charger was OK.

The car does run better. The take off is smoother. The lag in 1st gear with steptronic is very minimal unlike before and the braking is much smoother. So I don't know what they did or I might be dreaming but the car sure drives better.

Can you be a bit more specific with each version's highlights? "PDC", "about 12 CCC fixes", "VR for NAV", et al aren't very descriptive.

Yes I can be more specific

Go here post #7

The list is NOT intended to replace the SIBs just to give a list with dates.

It would be a Merry Christmas to me if I get so lucky! What time did you drop the car off?

7:30 AM but they give me a loaner, so I don't know exactly when they started on the car. Also, over the last couple of days, I noticed my MPGs are down from before. Not a bad trade off for better performance. I do not use DS mode as much now. I am taking a long trip on Tuesday, so I will see what the road MPG is now.

Have a great Holiday!

I just got upgraded to Progman 24 as well. I have a step, and I notice the car definitely is more responsive to throttle input. Regular drive seems much more sporty, with little lag or reaction time when pushed hard. The font also changed on my radio (I don't have iDrive). I'm sure I'll probably find a few more enhancements, but that's it for now.

Can anyone help me figure out my software version? I can get into the iDrive hidden menu but I do not see anything remotely like a Progman version.

I get a menu 'OSD'. When pressed, I get ECU information for all the modules in the car. Again, nothing that jumps out at me and says 'Progman 22' (or whatever version I have).

If I do it the non iDrive way with the odometer reset, I get '5C.50.C0' for the 'SW' (software version)?

Thanks in advanced.

If I take it in for repair and they upgrade the computer, do I have to re-program my garage door and homeLink buttons, or are those remembered even after all the stuff they do to upgrade the computer?

The Information menu is different, they have icons for things and they are split up more and I think some more detailed options. I can take a picture with my camera phone, but it may not be very clear.
