CPO Inspection Failure
I bought a 2007 CPO 328 sedan 2 months ago. I was just rear ended and had some body repairs done to fix a dent in my rear bumper. When they were replacing the bumper, the shop saw that my one of my side panels was horribly replaced with a reconditioned part. There is a small area, not easily seen, that has already begun to rust. The shop told me this needs to be replaced ASAP. Is this something I can expect the sales team to pay for, as it was sold CPO? The whole reason I bought a CPO car was to avoid issues like this with used cars. Any input is appreciated.

Have the shop state that in writing. Take it to the dealer that sold you the car and show them the letter. If they don't want to do anything about it then get their name and call and write a letter to BMW NA.

For most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the BT Tool or Peake Research Tool. They contain the actual BMW codes as opposed to a generic OBII scanner. Pays for itself on the 1st scan. http://www.bavariantechnic.com/ OR
http://www.peakeresearch.com/ (less expensive, but does not reset battery info) |
