Talking FINALLY PICKED UP MY 335is!!!! PHOTOS and quick review.

Hello fellow bimmer lovers, I just picked up my custom ordered 335is and I am in love. I am one of the lucky early owners of this beautiful North American exclusive model. I took these quick pictures in the back of the dealership in Hamilton Ontario, finished off the paperwork, put the plates on and drove her home. Its now 3:45 am where I live and after driving around all day I have just finished sizing and color correcting the photos and writing this little article. I will end up posting more detailed photos of the car, especially with the “BMW ZOOM” plates on the car but for now I did some quick photos and this lackluster review knowing I will be driving 24/7 and will not stop to take photos or write a review for a while. If anyone has any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Off the bat the sound that comes from the exhaust is a thrill in itself. In the first five minutes of driving the sound from the exhaust has caused dozens of peoples heads to turn, girls are smiling and grinning, guys are giving that “oh shit nice car” look, this car is pure eye and ear candy. Rumbling at a stop or zooming off, this white goddess growls and yells. Right out of the dealership, through the city, and on the highway home 30 km (18 miles) away I can tell you this car is great. The power and handling, the extra power from the dual turbos, over boost, and launch control is phenomenal. The 7 speed DCT is such a natural fit in this car, I can’t help but have this “perma-grin” on my face, I was smiling so much while driving my face hurt. I cannot explain the joy I am feeling right now but I am sure most of you know the feeling.

The all black dash, carpet and headliner with the red seats and doors are bloody gorgeous along with the aluminum trim. Granted some color combinations don’t look gook but white with red and black with hints of silver just simply elegant and stunning. I pretty much went all out on this car, fully loaded navigation and executive packages with some other optional equipment but I kept the 18” ferric grey split spoke rims that come standard, I like the style much more than the 19” M style. And those comments about the black side mirrors looking like Mickey Mouse ears are just not true, they look great, things look different in person than they do in a photo. As I am not a fan of chrome the black side mirrors, black kidney grill, and black window trim look much better then their white or chrome counterparts. I also opted for the sunroof regardless of it altering the center of gravity, since I don’t really like convertibles, a sunroof was a must.

In closing this car with its heritage of inline 6 history is tight, light, fast, agile, responsive, grounded, intuitive, balanced, technologically and mechanically sound. This car knows the road, it knows how to drive itself, it knows what its doing, it knows what I am doing, it knows what I am going to do before I do it, it knows what I am thinking............did I mention I was in love?

Thumbs up Southern Ontario Racetracks

If anyone knows of any race tracks where they hold track days or public days in the southern Ontario area let me know, I know of the Cayuga track and a possible track in Flamborough and or Toronto? I really need to get this car on the race track.

Thanks! Im pretty stoked!

I wanted to do a homage to the 1980's "is" models and tuning heritage of BMW in the 80's and white/red and black/red were predominant colors in the 80's with BMW models so I went with them. I was sick of black and silver and white looks nice and clean, you can see the lines, and with a loud red and black interior how could I go wrong, right?

Congrats!

Love the familiar look under the hood. Last Sat. I lifted the hood on a new 535i, and it reminded me of Lexus where it's just a big slab of plastic covering...kinda funny. Ferrari doesn't seem to feel the need to shroud everything in plastic, not sure where that trend started.

Congratulations on achieving motoring happiness.

On a side note:
What a cheesy description, are you a used car salesman?

Man...I love it....White on red is the best combo...I really wanted that before I went with black...just couldn't afford new or find a used on here at the time...

Why didn't you get a stick? Just curious..

Do you plan on modding much?

I like the Blacked out Kidneys with "Chrome" Slats.....

Sweeet Ride, clearly more status than "any ol' 335"

MORE PICS!

Dude, i'm very happy for you. And it's funny, I had Deja vu when I was reading your write up, cuz thats exactly how I felt when I first drove my E92, since then i've kept it in the bmw and got an LCI e90 335i. I just love it!
Good luck w/ the car and enjoy man!

That is a beautiful car. I am stoked to hear that they have opened up the exhaust a bit. I just picked up my first Bimmer (CPO 335xi coupe) & am amazed at how quiet the exhaust is (though I am used to a modified G35 coupe that I just sold w/Stillen exhaust & an Acura NSX w/Comptech exhaust so probably a jet engine would sound quiet to me these days). I also agree w/the others that the red interior w/white is an awesome color choice. Being the geek that I am I have to admit that I just saved your car's pix to my drive....it is much better than my own silver/silver coupe.

this is a wicked cool combo... and the only one that does it for me with coral red seats... the only thing I find odd is 335is inside the TACH... lol... i'm usually turned off by that kinda badging... beautiful call over all... congratulations.... enjoy !!!

I built one almost to the exact same spec on the web the other day, I went with Black/Red for the same reason!

I love this car, but the sticker made me

Hopefully they sell a ton of them and I'll be able to find one as a CPO in a couple of years!
