Another hit and run=(

I live in Brooklyn and have no choice but to park in the streets. I washed my car the other day and haven't moved my car. Today I walked to my car to find some nasty scratches on my bumper. You thinks I can wet sand some of this out? I already used a little bit of high grade rubbing compound.

The scratches looks too deep to wet sand it out. You should get the bumper guard man, everyone in the city has it.

i had one before i had mtech and it causes so many fine line scratches from dirt and sand getting under it, but either way it would have been too far to the side to prevent this sort of damage.

Damn...that sucks but in brooklyn every car has bumper damage front and back.. I go to the city and brooklyn and I don't know how u guys deal with it. I would flip out and start putting cameras outside my house. Your bumper looks fine for city standards so I would just keep the bumper as is until it gets too bad.

You have to consider bumper finish disposable when you live in the city and park on the streets. We had our E36 M3 on DC streets for several years -- when we finally got a garage, we had the bumpers resprayed. That's really all you can do. Too many people park by feel in the city.

i feel for you my brother. the other day i saw some guy literally trying to move the car behind him in the space backward by about a foot. after he finished destroying their bumper he decided that the space was too small for him anyway and peeled out up my block.

that is why my baby lives in a garage.

Part of living in the city man. The most annoying part is having every f'ing valet point out the scratches before taking your car. You could get those stick-on bumper guards (the rubber kind). They're not beautiful but they'll keep this from happening again.

A garage is a bumper saver, atleast in the city... Where I park, I park my own car... and usually next to the other bimmer's that are there... I usually park between this nice AW X5 4.4, and a Acura MDX (which has been collecting dust for the last year or so).

I've had the same thing happen to me...sucks...but thats what we have insurance for...just get the dealer to quote you an outrageous price then buy parts from tischer and have a local reputable body shop paint/install and you can pocket some cash on top of the deal.
