I have a 2011 E90 335d and started experiencing door seals that creaked going over speed humps, etc.

So thankful for this thread. I, too, was thinking it was the inner door seals. But thanks for the kind folks who posted pictures and shared their experiences in this thread, my squeaking has gone away.

I simply used dawn dishwashing liquid and water on the "felt upper door seal" and voila... door creaking vanished.

I take my car to a 100% hand-wash car wash place who must use an all-in-one combination wash and wax. I think the wax component is causing my seals to get contaminated and encourage squeaking.

So my advice to others with this problem is to try cleaning your upper, outer door seals first before trying a special lubricant or teflon tape. Cheaper and simpler. Worth a try!

I don't believe that a dish-washing liquid is the best product to apply on rubbers or plastics since it will remove all the fat and oils that the manufacturer has applied on them in order for them to maintain their elasticity and their good shape during their lifetime.

I also use the german product of 1z, gummi pfledge, but I can't really say that I am happy with the results. I ll go for the autoglym similar product or the fuchs carbaflo (i just watched the above video which seems to be interesting)

you can have a look at the attached article (it's a service information bulletin directly from bmw in 2006) I just found from my search in a colleague club. the only negative is the price of that material...I wonder if one could get it cheaper outside bmw cause the prices I found are extremely ridiculous

ps: it is mentioned that you should avoid applying carbaflo

EDIT:
I finally decided to go with the bmw's service information bulletin way, so I bought an anti-friction tape and I applied it on the upper surrounding roof panel (as mentioned in the sib). NO more creaking noises. i couldn't be more happy...finally!
